I like the solder/heat shrink combo. I don't know what the metal is, maybe
bismuth? Heat the tube with a heatgun, it both solders and tubes. Big Clive on
YouTube did some testing and approved them.

I believe it's crimp for something like a ring terminal or quick-disconnect
spade terminal. For attaching wires directly to a device it's solder. I'm not
sure splicing a broken wire would be allowed?

sounds like the infamous suction side air leak on the OM617s. If there is a
feed pump in the tank, check for a minor leak somewhere that will let the fuel
leak out and air leak in while sitting, could be anywhere before the pressure
pump.

Find older car, like W123. Harvest hinge wiring. Splice in so that survivor
wire takes the mechanical stress. I like solder and tape, not crimp.

The car is currently a dependable daily driver. As is common with these cars,
the
odometer is broken and the true mileage is unknown. Cosmetically the car is in
decent shape
and the pictures are an accurate representation of the cars current condition.

It is locked initially, but I looked again and maybe the lock button is not
quite as far down as the rest of them.
Guess I need to pop the door liner off and see what's going on.

I accidentally ripped the abs wires out of their socket on my Jetta a couple
months ago. I was irritated to discover that while the pigtail is available one
must splice it in, there is no plug on the inboard side...
