When I heard Maytag was gonna quit building real "reliable" washing machines,
(before they went under) I went out and bought a new set. The dryer motor has
been problematic, but the washing machine just works.

The HE washer cycles do take longer and really make a racket, but I've
grown used to it.

So far, have not even needed to tip it up for a new belt. Fantastic
machines.

Go ahead. the powder does not work all that perfectly, but a low dose will
dissolve just fine and clean the clothing. You could make a slurry of the
powder, if that makes you feel better. My stacked units have no issue with
oxi type powders
