In MA the trucks generally can do both brine and salt, brine before the storm,
rock salt after, usually mixed with some sand. We've got hills, this is a
requirement or nothing would ever move around. The salt kills some of the grass
on the edge of the road but that's about it.

They salt in Spokane. They did not when I first moved here, but the EPA
