Re: [MBZ] (SPAM?) 124 AC woe
Is there an orifice tube at the condenser? I think the blockage there or at the receiver/dryer would explain the lack of refrigerant flow visible at the sight glass. I guess I'm going to have to open it up and flush the evaporator and condenser and then see if it will hold a vacuum. -Max -Original Message- From: mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com [mailto:mercedes-boun...@okiebenz.com] On Behalf Of Jim Cathey Sent: Thursday, February 24, 2011 8:25 PM To: Mercedes Discussion List Subject: Re: [MBZ] (SPAM?) 124 AC woe > Now I have proper gauge > reading on high side but still vacuum on suction side, when it should > be about > 15 to 20 psi...so I've got a blockage somewhere. If you did have a blockage, and anything like a normal charge in there, you would have excessive high-side pressures to go with excessively-low low-side pressures. -- Jim ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com ___ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com

Re: [MBZ] (SPAM?) 124 AC woe
I added more r134 by heating the can and being patient. Now I have proper gauge reading on high side but still vacuum on suction side, when it should be about 15 to 20 psi. AC works well for about five minutes, and then stops working. Compressor is still engaged, but no refrigerant visible in sight glass, so I've got a blockage somewhere. I guess it could be blocked in the receiver/dryer or in the condenser. -Max From: Jim Cathey To: Mercedes Discussion List Sent: Thu, February 24, 2011 11:18:29 AM Subject: Re: [MBZ] (SPAM?) 124 AC woe Don't know if it's possible on r134a systems, but I've more than once had issues with the r12 feed valve not being fully opened, and the system thus wouldn't 'take' what was being offered it.
