I only figured out the plastic epoxy after I needed to repair the battery
box in the airplane. It's a plastic box with a drain nipple for a rubber
hose that sticks out the bottom of the fuselage. we found the drain nipple
broken off the bottom of the box during that last annual inspection, and
Don,
With all the recommendations that you’ve made about various glues and epoxies
for home repairs over the years, some I’ve tried quite successfully, I have to
ask, somewhat tongue in cheek, if you use any of this stuff on your airplane?

I'd try this stuff after a through cleaning and scuffing all around the
neck.

First a layer of epoxy, then a layer of fiberglass cloth or something else
strong wrapped around the neck, then another layer of
Plastic welder?
Mitch.

That’s what my leaning was also, just wanted to hear if there was some miracle
product that would patch it that I was not aware of.

Replace with new. Upper radiator hose blowing off on the highway is expensive.
Cost my sister a new head on her Volvo 940 wagon.

I'd trust JB-Weld for a repair, IFF you can splint over the crack. That and
clean everything very well. This assuming the crack was caused by trauma,
and not the tinworm degrading the material. (Plastic worm?)

What is the neck made of? Plastic or metal? Probably doesn't matter because
you should replace it regardless, but ...

I've used epoxy to glue in a new hose nipple when one cracked off the
reservoir tank, it's been holding but I can't say I don't worry about it
sometimes. I have a new tank just haven't gotten around to replacing it.

Replace it..
It will not heal, it will only get worse and fail when you least expect it
to... like when the temp is up and you are running AC in slow traffic...
the crack will expand as pressure goes up, then full failure of the tank.
My money goes to "replace with new".
