Brian: It's very easy to remove the lock mechanism IF you can turn the key -- just press the little button on the back and it comes out after you unbolt everything. You can then examine it and decided what to do -- it may only need cleaning, may be shot. Don't wait -- again, you have to

Get a new key from the dealer (or several if necessary) and toss any brass duplicates -- they fill the lock up with shavings, believe it or not. If that doesn't cure it (and it probably will only help), buy a new tumbler BEFORE it gets totally stuck -- they aren't expensive ($60 or so) and
