On the W115 the switch is on the side of the transmission where the shift rod goes in. Cheap and cheerful fix is to pull the plug and stuff a wire in to jump the connection, but that will prevent the backup lights from working. I don't know where the other connectors are. On that car, you

Dunno about 115, but I think it is pretty much the same as 123. I did that on 123 by pulling the gearshift surround. On the 115, you may have to pull the whole console. The switch lives above the trans and in front of the shifter. With a wiring diagram, you can probably do it under the
