On the W115 the switch is on the side of the transmission where the shift rod
goes in.
Cheap and cheerful fix is to pull the plug and stuff a wire in to jump the
connection, but that will prevent the backup lights from working.

that on 123 by pulling the gearshift surround. On the 115, you may have
to pull the whole console. The switch lives above the trans and in

IIRC, and I might not, it's on the side of the tranny where the shifter rod
connects - driver's side.
