Hello Richard, Monte, and y'all,
What in FreeGUI has earned your recommendation
to devote time to working on it?
I haven't played with it much since last year,
so I may well be missing something.
For a die-hard HyperCard user forced to endure MC/RR's
complexity, FreeGUI is the best interface

What difficulties have you encountered? In theory it should be as simple as
with MC, since they both use the same engine. As long as there is a naked
(not bound to a standalone) engine you should be able to run FreeGUI well.

I still haven't thought of a reason to maintain the MetaCard
IDE let alone
the documentation.

Nothing, I didn't recommend

Huh? That's exactly the point... it's a BETTER GUI (in some cases, not

So how exactly is anyone doing anything except choosing the best

Hi developers,
Can I propose a Bezier Drawing tool
for the MC ide?
I could prepare something for the middle
of the next week.

And on the improve-rev list, for example, there is currently a discussion
about namespaces which would certainly benefit from the experience of the
developers on this list; while the recent discussion of the 'do' etc script

Up to MC 2.4 I was using the htmltext property to do all my Kanji, but it's a real
drag.
With 2.5 I tried the unicode feature, but have run into trouble--i.e. the Kanji for
book, hon doesn't show up when I move it from one field to another via script.

Hi,
It is good to transpose this one to Metacard/Revolution.
One little suggestion would be not to change the look and feel
because this changes the look and feel of all stacks in MC/Rev you
working on while you are reading/searching in The Scripters Scrapbook.
There are other (more laborious)
I think you need to use the unicodetext property not the text property:
set the unicodetext of fld 1 to the unicodetext of fld 2

Hi Guys,
I'll gladly contribute the improved stacks I've made:
- Script Editor (can be spun off as a text editor too)
- Control browser
- Stack Browser - browse folders and files in a breeze!
- Message Box (with memory and type-ahead (currently broken))
- PropertiesX (lots more properties)...

Hello,
Hiding/deactivating undesirable or not needed
elements could unclutter the display. However,
the large memory requirements will likely remain
and so will the background activity to name a few
things that affect some of my work. Plus this will
complicate the Rev IDE even further,
