When not only do you start memorizing locations of near-microscopic features on
slices of rock, but you start naming them. I did some photos of a very thin .8
gram slice of NWA 3119 tonight. I call this chondrule "the brain" because it
looks like a section through one.

No apologies necessary. For my part, the violent history of this ETO is made
apparent in the multiplicity of pictures. Slickensides, if that's what those

at some point in its history. The shock veins, so numerous, also
Hi All,
Just been looking more closely at my Carancas piece and took some

sharpest of pictures but only using a cheap digital microscope.
Magnified shots at about 60x.
Any observations and comments welcome. Happy browsin

Hello,
today I have 2 nice NWA meteorites for sale.
The first is a beautyfull brecciated H3 chondrite NWA 4913
This meteorite is loaded with chondrules and metal flakes.
The melted areas are very good visible.
Mostly there were offered only smaller cut pieces of such nice chondrule loaded
pieces
In our case it was different, as we always had our own numbers and are no
selfpairers.
So if it's no problem any longer, we can state known pairings again.
Best,
Martin

Bernd, I applaud your pointed commentary. Absolutely this fellow missed the
point of the entire episode. A witnessed fall at this altitude producing a
verified crater, YIKES.
Even a lay person such as me can see the signifinigance of the EVENT the
rock represents.

Hi, List (sorry, Adam),
After "touting" the idea that the Carancas impactor
vaporized its troilite content and created a quasi-explosive
event, I have discovered I picked up one erroneous piece
of data: 700 degrees K. is not the "vapor point" of troilite;
