I have to abstain, not being able to hold the NJO in my hot little hands and
look at it in person. I am, however, leaning towards a meteorwrong; the
color looks off, unless we are looking at a recurrence of the copper
meteorite that turned out to be an aircraft part.

Apparently Meade has gotten into the micromount business. They have a tray
for about $400 with 24 different micromount specimens. Nothing really rare
(I don't think there were any lunar or Martian specimens when I last
looked), but a nice collection starter.

That's a nice, informative page on Tsavorites: It's interesting to notice
that they come in different colours: pink, brown, orange, yellow
to a listing of
who will be where and when during the event? I'm sure it was covered in
glorious detail earlier on Da List, but I largely read those posts
wistfully, then deleted them, having small hope of being able to come.

pinky-nail sized Esquel, gotten from Mike F. years ago, that, to me, is the
classic micro for the type: equal parts bright green peridot crystal and
clean metal.
