Well, video playback aside (least of my problems on this machine tbqf)... OpenBSD doesn't have multithreading in the kernel and is tuned for correctness rather than performance. I take from that I should not expect to see any movement on this front... Should I give up and go back to Linux then?

Did anyone try playing HTML5 video in a browser on a slow (= 1Ghz) single core machine running Linux? Would you expect that to work? Can't be done, maybe with a new 1ghz with a newish intel gpu. It took me a while with custom settings to get mythtv just to play DVB (480?) video (mplayer worked)
