I am using the normal OpenBSD 7.4 installation from ftp.jaist.ac.jp,

Loging in on the console, I see that the X session

It's certainly worth trying. If you do, please report back here.

AFAIK, xfce now has its own internal screensaver, it stopped

I can???t

Hello John,
I'm a veteran (a passed user) of Qemu.
I go by memory: it seems to me that viogpu must be specified in the
configuration
of the virtual machine...
Hope it is somewhat helpful.

ldd started using execpromises, and:
/* SUID programs may not be started with execpromises */
In OpenBSD 7.4, running ldd on a setuid or setgid executable returns
an error. Why is this?
# ls -l atrm
-r-xr-sr-x 1 root crontab 34864 Oct 10 23:41 atrm
# ldd atrm
atrm:
atrm: Permission denied
atrm: exit status 1
# chmod g-s atrm
# ls -l atrm
-r-xr-xr-x 1 root crontab
I discovered that if I run xfce desktop that I have on here for thunar file
manager, that it works. I don’t know why.
I can’t run xscreensaver-settings under fvwm. The screensavers work though.
Any suggestions? It said something about conflicting with xfce4-screensaver
or something too.
On Fri,
Will go with "colors"
THANKS!!

Hi list,
# 1
Since a couple months ago I started using CWM, at first it was a little weird
to use but now I find it hard to come back to fluxbox or I3, my favorite
WMs...but (always one), I'd like to set Xorg (not GTK), in a dark theme, dunno
if that's even possible...I've been a *BSD / linux

Hello,
I see 7.4 has been released and has the new viogpu(4) driver by joshua stein. I
am trying to use it in a VM created with UTM, a wrapper for QEMU that works on
M1 Macs. The virtual machine installs and starts up fine from the install74.img
mounted as a disk, but running startx/X/xenodm

ldd around suid programs has a fine history of security holes.
One idea is for you to just not not do that.
You don't explain why you need to do this. You just completely skipped that.
You don't justify why you need it to work. Does that make me care?? No, it
really doesn't make me care.

Hi Ryan,
Yes, please paste the output of:
$ dmesg | less
$ less /var/log/Xorg.0.log
I see you already sent part of the Xorg log. Please send the entire output of
the commands above.
The information those provide will help us better assist you.

Awesome new release as usual and the artwork is also superb.
