I think it should be possible without too much effort.
At least the internal class GType has the fields Minresolution and
Maxresolution already implemented. From my sight it should be a small
change in the TypeReader parser.

whilst its a great feature for some areas such as shops, its rather
useless for others, such as natural=rock, where there might be areas and
POIs tagged with.
Is there a way to have POIs generated from the areas for certain
polygons only?
