Hi, Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone out there has a closeup of the bottom right
section of a 1936 My Man Godfrey US window card. I need to know what writing
is
printed there and a closup photo would really be appreciated. Thanks very
much in advance,
Why should anyone be surprised? For a long time, the Academy and for that
matter the industry were dominated by voters who loved the movies that the
audience loved, and the stars or at least their employers were careful about
their reputations. Nowadays, a huge portion of potential Oscar

I truly am surprised at your question. I did exactly what you said once and
after i saw the results, I said never again. There was an item up for bid
at 9.99 and I placed a bid of 350. Another bidder kept bidding and bidding
in increments of $5 each or less until he got to 348.
i hardly think that when one bids on ebay, and the notice you have
been outbid appears, it CLOUDS one's mind. that sounds a bit over
the top and dramatic. nor does it make most madder and madder. it may
make some discouraged, and so, with a clear head, they may bid again.
plain and simple.
I think some people are just pissed off because Bruce doesn't play to do
things in a manner that they perceive as most advantageous to
themselves. FRANC

I have a load of them last year.. you clearly don't watch MPB
also, within certain parameters, it is illegal to ship pre-1960
posters out of Russia
another factor may be that most Russian posters are of films that we
know nothing about - so there is a lack of interest

I have a Russian poster for To Be Or Not To Be for the first Russian release
in 1963, which I think has the smartest art of any I have seen for this film:
Benny's Hamlet costume on a clothes hangar with a nazi cap propped on top.
Like a lot of the best Russian poster art it's an elegant
Hey Neil,
Can you send us an image of this Russian To Be Or Not To Be?

Hi Zeev, I just took a quick snap of it for you with my phonecam so apologies
about the grainy 2MB quality and angle, but I hope you get the idea! I much
prefer it to the German Hitler/Egg version that i also have. What do you
think? Cheers, Neil
