It flat out pissed me off that Lauren Bacall received her award at that small awards thing the Oscars does before the real show. Lauren Bacall is a true star and deserved better.  And so did Roger Corman for that matter. And I'm with you Joe, I thought Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin stunk.
