Sean.. you are incorrect with this statement:
Claude did not make any sort of statement about the reserves being

he did indeed make such an accusation. This is his comment:
The posters on movieposterbid are either overpriced...
that is indeed a flat statement that the reserves
Howdy Claude et al,
Interesting debate on reserves and whether it would
advantageous or foolhardy to a prospective bidder.
When viewing solely from a bidder's angle, I agree
that it is probably a waste of time, with a few
exceptions.
I noted a comment ... There is also the ebay nonsense

I understand your situation but you are both seller and buyer. I am a buyer.
Ebay, with the best offer, has established a negotiating situation in which
the seller holds all the cards. The seller can list an item at an enormous
price and then wait for people to make offers. The

I checked a number of posters for sale on movieposterbid and they are a waste

I find it interesting that you cannot address what I said, which in my
opinion is the truth. All you can do is use insults without addressing one
single
word of what I said. Is it because you cannot find fault with my words? I
will not waste any more time on your insults either now or
It's just outrageous that you would make such a statement. In fact, one of
my auctions reached the reserve 2 days ago, and the balance of the reserves are
quite low. If you expect me to give things away, for your dining pleasure,
you can forget that. Don't bid, it's fine with me. But there
My husband and I just recently listed a poster with a high reserve. It
didn't sell, but he wanted his money and the poster was worth it. He
relisted with the same high reserve (22,000) and he got it. I'm glad I told
him to stick to his guns.
You used to be nicer, Claude.

Claude did not make any sort of statement about the reserves being high or low.
In fact, his statement was pretty much the opposite he will not chase
reserves, thus he will not bid on a poster unless the reserve is already met.
He is not asking for things to be given away, simply asking to not

I walk away. List a price you're willing to sell, if I'm willing to buy I click

Attempt to trick me in there with a reserve so that I might fall in love with
the product and bid away

Did I ask you to give it away? Did I attack you? No --to both. Please read
what I wrote again and you will see that I don't like reserves. They waste
my time. I will bid after the reserve is hit because then I have a chance to
win. I still like you.

Given the choice between:
1) an opening of $9.99 with a reserve of $100
2) an opening bid of $100
I too would prefer option #2 -- in fact, I too avoid auctions which use option
#1.
If someone actually prefers bidding on auctions with reserves can you chime in?
thanks,
Evan
