Many, many years ago I used to use thumb tacs and put these mint, unused
three sheets up in the outer lobby of a theatre..They were mint,
never used from NSS and certainly not old
There were times the two pieces fit perfectly, there were other
times..they would not line up
Doesn't explain why my Gun Crazy 3 aligned fine prior to backing,
whereas after, the bottom sheet was smaller.

Reason I've heard for this kind of thing happening, grain of paper
going in different directions, causing variation in shrinkage during
backing.
Sheets don't match that brilliantly anyway, looks like the artist got

limited amount of use and display. The printers just did not care.

Rich,
Rich,
Yeah, I just noticed that myself. I checked out the picture in last
year's Heritage auction on this 3-Sheet at

Also note that the borders of the blow-up portion don't match up

Actually that's the only accurate part, borders never seem to match up
when these are backed.

Yeah. It's obvious that the bottom third was taken from the one sheet
(or maybe something even smaller) and simply enlarged many hundred
percent -- the little dots of the original printing process are *huge*
at the bottom of this 3-sheet; look at the binoculars and James

perhaps, there might be a collector who might have been happy with the
mere top portion.
moreover, perhaps money was wasted for the bottom portion.
REAR WINDOW might be the only hitchcock title to which i own NADA, whicj i

i think it means that the top is original WITH restoration
and the bottom is totally new.
perhaps, the description it is not (so) clear because the seller is in
germany and he may use different lingo than used on the USA ebay site or by

i recall that some
i do see in the description that the seller does state that the
bottom third is a restored/ replicated section and that the upper 2/3
are the only original sections. but that is some god awful
replication work, IMHO.
