Yesterday at Helliksen Prairie WPA in Becker Co., I observed an AMERICAN
BITTERN, BOBOLINKS, UPLAND SANDPIPERS, MARSH and SEDGE WRENS, and LeCONTE'S
SPARROW. Flushed COMMON SNIPE and CLAY-COLORED SPARROW off their nests. There
are a number of prairie plants in bloom, including SMALL WHITE
Today, 7 Jun., the Tricolored Heron was still at Black Rush Lake WPA, Lyons
Twp., Lyon Co., where Bob Janssen found it on June 5th.
From 11:50 to 11:55 this morning, the heron was in view from the
minimum-maintenance road that bisects the WPA - the same road from which Bob
saw it two days ago,
scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, June 14th 2007.

On my way to Bemidji today, I stopped to bird along Winnibigoshish Lake and
was excited to find a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher sitting on a wire about 100
yards from the lake at the Bena access to Winnibigoshish immediately west of
Denny's resort. This is the same access that hosted the Purple
information on the MOU, either write us c/o the Bell Museum, e-mail us
