Have returned to the area from their breeding grounds. Saw them in Kilen Woods
SP today. Seems a bit early, but I guess that cold front over the weekend
pushed them down.

Lake Byllesby, east end
This is my first visit in weeks to the lake. The lake level is very high at
present and I saw no ducks and only a few geese. The only waterbirds present on
the main lake were:

We've had several waves of birds move through the Ottertail,
MN area in the last week. I've had YR warblers visiting
today & yesterday, & I have a pine siskin mixed in with my
goldfinches. Last week my daughter & I counted 15
nighthawks one evening & I saw 2 large flocks of Franklins
gulls passin
First juncos of the season for me, a half dozen or so, in my backyard.

Walking around powderhorn lake in south Minneapolis this morning, I saw a lone
female ruddy duck hanging out with the regular mallards, wood ducks and canada
geese. In the reeds I spotted several palm warblers, a nashville, and several
white-throated sparrows. Yesterday I also saw a young Harr
A Northern Mockingbird just flew out of the grapes in my backyard.
It went across the street and I could hear it call briefly before I
went back inside.
