Princeton Sewage ponds' godwits are not present this morning. While there are
hundreds of shorebirds, nothing unusual was seen.

The past few days the migrant sparrow numbers have dropped drastically. I
assumed the pleasant weather had sent them north.
However, there are presently 22 Harris's foraging below the Nyjer feeders along
with several White-crowned, a Mourning Dove,
and a PAIR of Indigo Buntings.

The Area Wildlife Manager today reported that there is approximately half (80
acres or so) of our Malardi Lake (near Montrose) drawdown project that is
exposed mudflat, and that there were huge masses of shorebirds foraging out on
the mudflats. From the Wildlife Management Area parking lot,
Yesterday(5/13) at Rapids Lake MVNWR I covered about half the area that I
covered either 5/11 or 5/12 and turned up 15 warbler species with a significant
increase in Yellow-rumped Warbler numbers in the areas covered. Today(5/14) I
covered the same areas as yesterday plus a bit more.and found
17 warblers today, 16 on Blue Hill Trail. Highlights were Cerulean and
Audubon's Yellow-rumped. Philadelphia Vireo present as well.
Good birding!

located near the town of Sandstone. eBird list from this morning is below!

73 Species were seen! Highlight was a Redheaded WP fly over! And many species
of warblers, sparrows, and others who my good friend Roy Zimmerman will post
soon! Good birding to all!

I'm seeing very few phoebes lately. During this past (three-day for me) weekend
when I was out birding almost every daylight hour, in prime areas where they
are usually ubiquitous, I saw and heard a grand total of one. May be just a
statistical oddity that few happen to be in W. Bloomington
This afternoon I stumbled upon a good farm pond in Chisago County. It was
northwest of Shafer at 308th St. and Rainbow Ave. Rainbow Ave. can be reached
from County 37.
Along with the Ruddy Turnstone and handful of Wilson's Phalaropes, I spotted a

I refound the bird with the help of Ben Melissa at about 3:30p in the
location described before at Bruce Vento Park:

Of the dozen or so Rose-breasted Grosbeaks that are hanging around our feeders,
one of the males has the color variation where the rose color is replaced by
a gold/yellow color. The literature indicates that this is uncommon, but it
happens. Google xanthochroism if you wish to get more
Among the birds we saw this morning: green heron, broad-winged hawk, Virginia
rail, sora, solitary sandpiper, ruby-throated hummingbird, empidonax flycatcher
(We decided it was an alder?), warbling vireo, numerous blue-headd vireos,
house wren, marsh wren, winter wren, several Swainson's
