Yesterday I enjoyed a bird walk with two enthusiastic and skilled friends,
Suzanne and Lorry, at Hok-si-la Park on the east end of Lake City, accessed
from Hwy 61. We met Bruce Baer, who joined us, and was also a great help
with some of the bird ID, and in locating the birds. The day stayed r

Visited Malardi Lake today, which is in drawdown, with plenty to see. Two
birders that were there before me told me that half the flock left after a raid
by 2 Peregrine falcons, but there were still a lot of birds. Besides the usual
yellowlegs and peeps, there was an American Avocet, 2 Hudsoni

This morning I found Common Terns on both Lake Vadnais and White Bear Lake

in southern Minnesota until mid-May, at which point Forster's Terns have
been around for several weeks.

Birded around Pope County from Friday to Tuesday, mostly in MBBA blocks.
Changes over the weekend were almost instantaneous.
Agriculture is finally off the ground – or should I say “into the ground”. On

It was hard to go to work this morning. I looked out my window and saw a
