There was an immature snowy owl sitting on a power pole along co. road 13 in
Hamden Slough NWR. The bird was on the second power pole north of the
intersection of Co. Rd 13 and 280th St.

afternoon. I went back this morning and it was not at that location. After
going West 1/4 mile my son saw a fly over of a large white bird. I

bald cardinals this year but saw several last summer. I can't imagine it would
be caused by a shrike but stranger things have happened!

Kim Eckert just text several birders that the female King Eider is now located
on 23rd Avenue East off Water Street near Beacon Point Hotel and Kim just
reported a female Barrow's Goldeneye in the same area just now.

The female King Eider in Duluth was first found by Greg Garmer around 2:00 pm
on L Superior out from his residence at Beacon Pointe on Water St near the 21st
Ave East access. He contacted Karl Bardon who then saw the bird and notified

This afternoon my roommate, Ted Keyel, and I made a visit to the lakefront
of Beacon Pointe Resort (23rd Avenue East) in Duluth, to see the reported
female King Eider. We got nice long looks at her, in addition to seeing not

While birding in Jackson, Martin and Watonwan counties today, with Herb
Dingmann, Ron Erpelding and Mark Junghans. We enjoyed some interesting birds,
including two potential first county records for Jackson County. Here are a few
of the species we encountered today.

Today a fellow teacher of mine at Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City High School told
me that on Wednesday around 12:30 he was looking out the south windows of
our school in Grove City when he noticed a very large, white bird flying until
it
perched on the roof of a shed by our softball field. The
