A few more warblers have made it to the Duluth area. On Saturday (May

A High School friend of mine posted a picture on Facebook of a Cattle Egret
that was on his property. I'm not sure of the exact location, but it is
approximately 5 miles east of Ortonville.

At 10:30 p.m. this evening I found the first-of-year Henslow's Sparrow singing

I thought county listers might be interested in some shorebird spots I found
today in northern Isanti County. There were a few flooded fields along County
Road 4 (413th Ave.) between Heather St. and Holly St. There was also a flooded
field further up Heather St., going north from CR 4.
This morning, while it was raining lightly, a Short-billed Dowitcher 3
Dunlin were feeding in the north pond at the Randolph Industrial Park. Dan
Versaw had alerted me to their presence and the increased number of
shorebirds at the location so I made the drive to check it out.

On Saturday I convened the annual MRVAC Hok-si-la warbler weekend field

folks with bad knees and backs as you are constantly climbing over or under

There was what I believe to be a Glaucous Gull on the smaller west lake by
Lake Vadnais. The bird was easily seen from Vadnais Blvd. I have posted a
couple photos on the Minnesota Birding FB page or if you can't access that,
let me know and I can email a photo to you.

Today's conditions were ideal: no wind, no rain, no sun. Obviously, they
were ideal migration conditions, too, since Wood Lake was covered with
birds. 21 warbler species is the largest one-day total I have ever had
there. Species list below:
Hooded Merganser
Great Egret
Canada Goose
Mallard
