in my report on the CBCs back in December! My sincerest apologies!!!

I saw two evening grosbeaks briefly at my feeder near Dorset this morning
in southern Hubbard County. These are the first I've seen here in probably
three years. Also first-of-fall common redpolls, 4 flyovers.

The evening grosbeak flock had really thinned out since Friday here at the
resort;
due to the very cold nightly subzero temps -40 and -35 last week. This morning
with a light snow falling more moderate temps the Evening Grosbeak were ready
and waiting for the fresh bird seed around 8:00 AM.
Sorry I forgot to add my name to my earlier post about the Evening Grosbeak.
The details about the grosbeak will be on my earlier post.

It was enjoyable to see a nice size flock of Evening Grosbeak come into the
feeder today. Hopefully they will stay as the Pine Grosbeak have.

Evening Grosbeaks are still visiting my yard every day (including
today), but the flock is now absent more often than it's present, and
there seem to be fewer birds now. Yesterday and this morning there
were at least four birds--two males and two females--and there may be
a few more than that, but
I have a cedible report of a pair of Evening Grosbeak seen briefly a few days
ago at a feeder in southern Eagan just north of a western section of Lebanon
Hills. I will report back if they are found again.

The pair of grosbeaks that showed up a few weeks ago recruited about 14
others- a nice mix of males and females- and today, one male evening
grosbeak. When they move in to the feed bins they are enough of an army to
overcome the 6 bluejay seed hogs. It doesn't take much drama to amuse us in
The 16 or so other grosbeaks at the feeders are pine grosbeaks.

before flying off to the north. I live in a heavily wooded area about 4.5
miles south of Prescott, WI and right across the
