was reported and photographed in North Oaks,
only a few miles as the vulture flies from where I saw the mystery bird. Was
that the bird? Perhaps but I'll never know.

Lauderdale is near the intersection of Larpenteur Ave. and Highway 280 about 1
mile from the State Fair Grounds. Our house is located near the corner of
Summer and Pleasant Sts.

Alyssa and all, it was there at 12:15 this afternoon. Same place, same
associates. It was just north of where the river channel goes off behind
Nicollet Island at Boom Island Park.
Also present at midday near the boat landing was a small brown bat catching
bugs.

were a number of Veeries (Veerys?) along the main creek trail and a Wood Thrush
singing right across from the colorful Beaver Creek Valley State Park sign as
you descend into the valley.

Just got back from two hours spent watching hundreds of warblers, 16 kinds in
all, along the trail that skirts the perimeter of the campground. There were
approx. 100 Wilson's Warblers, with equal or greater numbers of Am. Redstarts,
Yellow Rumps, plus good numbers of Chestnut-Sideds and Palms.
We, along with a dozen or so other birders, watched the bird from 2 to 3:30 PM
at the break wall near the Marine Museum at Canal Park. It is still present as
I write this. Thanks to those who have kept everyone updated.

Seen very briefly under our bird feeder at 8:10 this morning, scratching like a
Fox sparrow does. This was the Great Plains variant, as pictured in Sibley. It
flew off with a group of juncos. Lauderdale is near Highway 280 and Larpenteur

The Harlequin Duck first reported on eBird by Diane Meiborg is hanging around
the Coast Guard Station area of the harbor. There is also a Surf Scoter in the

Langton Lake Park, on the west side of Roseville just east of 35W, has been
busy for the past two days with warblers as well numerous Ruby--Crowned
Kinglets. The path on the west side of the small lake was especially
productive. This morning, we saw 16 Black and White Warblers, a personal best,
