Here in SE St Louis County, I've had large flocks of Redpolls (as many
as 50+) at my feeders everyday all winter since early December, but no
Pine Siskins yet! The Chickadees are the first to arrive in the
morning and shortly after the Redpolls dominate the feeders. I don't
recall seeing so many

without success. I then drove to the 180th street marsh in Dakota County. From
the turn onto 180th from 52 to the marsh itself I saw nearly 80 Horned larks
from the car.
I took the first left east of the marsh and
Encountered my first Winter Wren of the spring in Houston County.

I may be too late for all the owl fun, but I'll be looking for owls in the the
Sax-Zim Bog on
Saturday. Most any kind would be a lifer for me. If you happen to see one,
I'd appreciate a
text. I'll try to post any significant findings on here.
