[mou-net] MBW schedule update

The MBWbirds.com  website was updated today, December 19, 
with the current registration status of the 2018-19 Minnesota Birding Weeks & 
Weekends (MBWs). Most significantly, the status for all of the MBWeekends was 
revised, since second leaders or extra MBWs have now been added for each MBW to 
accommodate additional participants. Accordingly, note that most of the 
MBWeekends which had been filled now have vacancies, while the other few have 
much shorter waiting lists.

Due to a case of jet-lag (following 5+ weeks in Australia and New Zealand), the 
2017-18 Minnesota Birding Weeks & Weekends schedule due for publication today 
on the MBWbirds.com  website will be delayed one day. 
However, it should be on the website by noon tomorrow, December 2, and note 
that the opening day of registrations will still be on Saturday, December 3.

Just a brief posting here to mention that the MBWbirds website 
(http://mbwbirds.com) was updated today, with the registration status for all 
the Minnesota Birding Weekends and Weeks, along with the summaries of the 
completed MBWs.

Note that an additional South Texas MBWeek is still scheduled if there enough 
registrations: on either Dec 26, 2013 - Jan 1, 2014 or Feb 24 - Mar 2, 2014, 
whichever dates can accommodate the most participants. 

Included on the website as well are some additional revisions to A Birder's 
Guide to Minnesota. Although the book became out-of-print in 2012, updated 
bird-finding information will continue to be included here periodically. (Also 
discontinued in 2012 was the "Birding by Hindsight" series of bird ID articles 
in The Loon, but these will continue to be archived on the website.)

Quite unexpectedly, there are now 3 vacancies on the September 5-13, 2013 
Washington - B.C. Minnesota Birding Week – see 
http://mbwbirds.com/MBWeeks.html. And even more unexpectedly, no one on the 
formerly long waiting list is now interested in filling these openings.

Just a brief posting here to mention that the MBWbirds website 
(http://mbwbirds.com) was updated yesterday, May 15, with the registration 
status for all the Minnesota Birding Weekends and Weeks, along with the 
summaries of the completed MBWs. 

Although some MBWs are already filled (or nearly so), note that there is no 
waiting list for some of these (and cancellations are possible),  and several 
other MBWs still have vacancies. Additional MBWeekends have also been scheduled 
to accommodate extra participants (e.g., for the Koochiching County and North 
Shore MBWs), and an extra leader will be added to the N Shore-Duluth MBW in 
October. 

Note as well that an additional South Texas MBWeek has been scheduled: on 
either Dec 26, 2013 - Jan 1, 2014 or Feb 24 - Mar 2, 2014, whichever dates can 
accommodate the most participants.

Just a brief posting here to mention that the MBWbirds website 
(http://mbwbirds.com) was updated today, that the 2012-13 MBW season has now 
been completed, and the registration status for all the Minnesota Birding 
Weekends and Weeks of the March 2013 - February 2014 season continues to be 
updated. 

Since several MBWs were already filled (or nearly filled) so early, note that 
some additional MBWs or second leaders have been scheduled to accommodate extra 
participants:
 
- Additional Washington-Br. Columbia MBWeek on Sept. 5-13, 2013 (although both 
MBWs are filled with long waiting lists).

- Additional South Texas MBWeek on Dec. 26, 2013 - Jan. 1, 2014.

- Additional Koochiching Co. MBWeekend on June 15-16-17 (although both MBWs are 
filled).

- Additional North Shore of Lake Superior MBWeekend on Oct. 31 - Nov. 1.

- Second leaders added to the Oct. 4 North Shore and Jan. 4-5, 2014 Duluth 
MBWeekends.

It is also possible that extra leaders or MBWeekends will be scheduled to 
accommodate extra participants on other MBWs which are filled.

Just a brief e-mail to note that the MBWbirds website (http://mbwbirds.com) was 
updated yesterday, November 24, and it includes the registration status for the 
Minnesota Birding Weekends and Weeks of the new 2013-14 season. This includes 
all those registrations received through Nov 24, with almost all of these 
postmarked on Nov 19. 

Even though the registration period just opened on the 19th, some MBWs are 
already filled and have waiting lists, while others are now close to being 
filled. Because of two long waiting lists, note that an additional Koochiching 
Co MBWeekend is now on the schedule (although it is also filled), and that some 
on the Washington MBWeek waiting list are being confirmed for the 2014 MBWeek 
instead.
