I`m trying to migrate all the clients from the old domain, to the new one,
installing a new SCCM 2012 R2 server.
The clients from the old domain have the “ABC” site code, and the new ones will
have let`s say “XYZ”.
I plan to move all the clients gradually, using IP address range for

As others have said, we have a collection Deploy Windows 7 that we put
computers in when we want them to be imaged. Then reboot to pxe. There is a
role that removes them from the collection and clears the required pxe
deployments automatically when the task sequence completes successfully.
My org has tight control over who can use SCCM console, and even tighter
control of task sequences and deployments.
I have an available deployment of our task sequence to all unknown PC’s, and
all client systems, media/PXE only.
To prevent problems, I’ve password protected the boot images.
We are considering implementing App-V for app deployment, and I’m interested to
know people’s opinions on it as a solution.
Is it good/bad/ugly etc? What do people like/dislike about it, and what
problems does it bring/solve?

Like many things in IT all depends on the scenario where you are going to
deploy APP-V.
I’ve done a lot of App-V deployments and I think the technology is good but
still needs improvements. Also in a high percentage of the cases all depends
on the applications some applications work very

The key statement here is that the update was not available on the DP. This
checkbox enables a “fallback” method of downloading the update binaries. It

You can't change a deployment from available to required without doing some
very unsupported things in the database.
Can it be done in SCCM 2007? If so, maybe a deployment to All Systems is
just what you need to get that upgrade started!

If your environment is anything like ours, the collections wont keep up with
the roaming clients. I would control this entirely at the local level, put some
checks in your task sequence and slowly hit all the machines as they come on
and off the network.

If the package version changes, package prestage is useless. After you have
completed the package import to the DP, deltas will be resent when doing a
refresh.
