Recently I received a SONY HBI-V1 video digitizer cartridge. I received it with only one diskette (Japanese texts written all over it) and no manual or diagram describing how to connect it. It is easy to connect... It has only two connectors, and it does not even matter witch you use. Plug one cable to cartridge and the other end to VIDEO OUT in your VCR, TV or any other machine, that gives VIDEO OUT signal. You can use this other connector in cartridge, if you still need VIDEO OUT signal for some other equipment. The small switch near connectors is just brightnes controll. (actually it is ment to be used as terminator on / off) After you have connected cables, you can use the internal proggram to digitize screen 8,10=11 and 12 pictures by typeing : CALL DG That cartridge is also quite good commands to be used in own BASIC proggrams, but probabby you don't need them, so I'm not going to write that all now. Is it for instance possible to 'merge' live video with computer animations using this cartridge? If you plug TWO cables (lower input, upper output) you have to switch it to the lower position. If you want I have the original manual and can scan the diagrams for you. They are very easy to understand. Tell me if you want it. Also there are all the BASIC CALL commands explained there, so maybe you'll want them too... Is it for instance possible to 'merge' live video with computer animations using this cartridge? As NYYRIKKI said, it is impossible.
