Re: [Multisync-users] Syncing Siemens SX1 (Nokia 6600)
Hey, I upgraded my SX1 to SVN 15 and made a hard-reset (switch the phone on with * and # pressed). Now Gnubox modifys the commdb "Bt" Accesspoint correctly. I can now connect with Putty to my Linux box. I try multisync the next days ... It was essential not to set up a ppp connection to the phone on the pc side via "echo x > /dev/rfcom0". If I advise putty to connect to the linux box, the phone will set up this connection itself. When it was set up before on the pc side, it won't work. Best regards, Thomas. -- GMX im TV ... Re: [Multisync-users] Syncing Siemens SX1 (Nokia 6600)
Hey, I'am now trying to get my new sx1 working together with gnubox V 1.0. (The connection between the phone and linux via bluetooth works fine) I used the version from leonards sx1 part of the howto: http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/mraento/symbian/gnubox.SIS Another SX1 user reported this version works together with his mobile (he has SVN 11) http://www.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/~leonard/gnubox6600.SIS does not starts on my phone. I have the firmware SVN 13 (SX1_o2-D-MUSIC-uk-de-tr_13_0002). This is a special O2 branded version (SX1 - O2 Music) I created the new "Bt" Access-Point with an arbitray telephone number and gsm-data etc as described in the docs. But after running gnubox the phonenumber is still visible in the AP-Settings of the phone. It shouldn't. (Gnubox shows the correct phone number after starting) If I use putty with the Bt profile to connect to my linux box, sometimes the phone dials the number from the Bt Access-Point and sometimes gives me an error Message (-1). I never get a connection ... Can someone give me a hint? This would be very nice. Best regards, Thomas. Yes it will work, too. The underlying symbian os is exactly the same. [Multisync-users] Syncing Siemens SX1 (Nokia 6600)
Hello, i will buy a new (smart)phone and want to decide between sx1 and 6600. At my provider the SX1 is cheaper then the 6600 so i prefer it since they have nearly the same functionality ( both come with symbian os 6.0). Will it be possible to sync the SX1 with evolution like it works with the 6600 (Instructions in the multisync WIKI)? There are several success stories for the 6600 on this list unfortunately none for the sx1.
