What does change-folder?tab show? Somebody asked this question
Hm, just one directory. Changing to just = gives me all the
directories.

However, I've now tweaked the script a little, and it now generates
this:
=+Daemon_Mails [...]
^^
What is this any way? Use either '+' or '=' but not both.

Oh, I've seen copies [of Linux Journal] around the terminal room at The

Well, seems like it fixed my problem. Thanks! Also thanks for, uhm,

Hi!
I've just changed from mbox spool files to Maildir spools. Since then,
mutt 1.3.27i does not reliably detect new mail in the directories.
In my muttrc, I've got this:
mailboxes ! `find $HOME/Maildir/ -type d -maxdepth 1 \( -name Mailer_Mails -o -name
Daemon_Mails -o -name DUPES \)` `find

Does the above command (between the `) produce one line or one line
per Mailbox? AFAIK only the first line of output of the command
between the backticks is used by mutt. Does mutt recognize new Mail
if you add the folders by hand.

No, mutt does not detect new mail when I add the folders by hand.
Unsure if this is important or not

Can I just ask what appears in the list when you go into the mailboxes
listing in mutt (change-folder?tab)? In this list mutt will only
show mailboxes that it can read, so this should diagnose whether mutt is
getting the list of mailboxes. So if mutt does show the mailboxes then
its a timestamp

What type of find are you using? If I try your commands, I always get
multiple lines as output.
GNU find version 4.1.7
But it doesn't matter. I've now changed to calling a a small script
which will print the files on one line,

Yes, I just wanted to write this as well ;) I did change-folder=tab
and got all the folders. So it

OK, the problem seems not to be your script. Can you post the
mailboxes line you added manually?

If the above order is the same in your muttrc it is expected to fail.
IIRC you have to set folder=~/Maildir first and are afterwards allowed
The order is different. I first set folder and then source
~/.mutt/files, and ~/.mutt/files
