My friend
IMHO, you ask to many questions in one thread :)
I will reply to the question about the icons.
See attached image. The answer is there.
Best regards

New members are only moderated until it's obvious they are not trolling and
someone gets around to manually unmoderating them as it's not supported
through the email system (or in the very rare case that a moderator feels a
discussion is getting too personal or vitriolic). That usually takes time.
My conclusion is that my treatise on computed-score may still be necessary.
Will attempt to get it out in the next 24h

Interesting - yes, some cunning ideas there!
One question is if I have made a context become "always closed" (e.g. your
task tagged with @Someday) where do you keep them and how do you actually
see them to bring them back to life. How can you aggregate them all at
once? And how many clicks does
I have been trying the custom views on an iPhone 5 and run into a problem,
not sure if it's a bug.
If I click the existing view 'Active Actions' then I see only the contexts
which are currently open. It shows days into the future and the actions
under each day are only those with a context open

This is where you are going to find the experienced users (including those

experienced users out there that are no longer here.

Not so fast. If I remove the parent filter the sort orders melt down. I
think they are in effect applied at the end to the highest light level of

First off, congratulations.

which seemed to have been inoperative for you, but now it seems to be working.
Could you share what changed to make computed-score work for you?

I spoke too soon. Drat !!! There is a problem.
Because the View is based on an Actions's Project's 'priority' (i.e Urgency
& Importance), it doesn't know what to do with Actions with no parent
(Projects) ! No does it know what to do with Projects with no Actions. And
both disappear from view.
Hi
I rather chuffed with this.
My other threads got confused, so let's start this again
BACKGROUND RE-CAP:
I am been trying to implement GTD on MLO. And because David Allen suggests
that we have (in practice) quite so many 'Projects' and because in GTD
method you need to create a Next Action
I still say that a really user-friendly implementation of "Forced Next
Action" (i.e. the ability to individually ad d additional actions to the
single official Next Action for a project) would be a good idea.
Using dependencies is a step too far for most newbie (including me so far).
Fwiw, I s
There are a lot of ways to handle this, here are two:
1. create tags like ?Fred and ?Wilma for everyone to whom you delegate.
Bring up the Context Maintenance window (F8) select all the delegation tags
and mark them all "always closed"
2. create a version of the Active Actions view and add an ad
Hi Dwight
Apologies for moving the goal posts mid-thread. I guess I was leary of
starting too many threads - it's hard to know how different communities
like to work.
The more I think about it the more I realise that I have absolutely no idea
how best to use either folders or Context tags.

they are on my GTD 'Waiting' or GTD 'Someday-Maybe' list?*
*Do I need to add advanced filters for every single view

I have now had a very good look at MLO and I can not for the life of me
work out how you generated that image(!).
Is that done through the standard "All tasks" view? What are those icons

John: I'm having a problem with this thread because it has too many open

other users because the result is that a discussion that could be helpful

Got it. Yes slightly clunky but it works :)
Many thanks Dwight.
BTW, I am am trying hard to follow the GTD methon but I am having a slight

anywhere with a gallery of completely different ways of doing things,

I'm not aware of any hotkey that would bring you directly to the
importance/urgency sliders, but ALT-2 will bring you to the "General"
section of task properties and navigates around within the section,
so 2, will bring you to importance and 2, , will
bring you to urgency.

Excellent - it has now been fixed. (I spent quite a long time trying to

definitely broken previously)
