Re: [MLO] Feature: Slect multiple Tasks from some filtered view and MOVE them to a folder
A filtering tool would be great. Instead of just searching, the entire outline could be filtered based on the search/filter field. Afterward, it'd be easy to manipulate the displayed items the way you want. It is yet available by applying an advanced filter, but it's a lot o clicks if you want to use it intensively Le vendredi 2 novembre 2012 06:09:00 UTC+1, Lisa S a écrit : He's looking to move multiple tasks that are in different parts of the tree after a search, if I understand correctly. I've checked a MLO roadmap and I must say I don't see a good future for MLO . MLO is doing a big mistake: no web app or API for MLO cloud, there is even no basic support for web planned . Re: [MLO] Re: MLO 4 license?
Among the infuriating problems I've had with active license management systems: 1. Antivirus software declares it to be a trojan and shuts it down, preventing use of the disaster you've licensed 2. Firewall blocks it 3. When your hard drive fails and has to be restored from backup, the phone home process says that the license cannot be installed on a second machine. In order to clear the problem you have to go to the original installation and de-authorize it, which would require a time machine. robisme robillardoliv...@gmail.com wrote: »Would a phone home activation system bother you that much ? Re: [MLO] Re: MLO 4 license?
The primary problem with phone home systems is the general assumption that the system/device where the application is installed will have access to the internet at the time the application starts, EVERY time the system starts (there are some phone home schemes that only check daily or weekly, but most seem to check at every application start). That's an erroneous assumption. I may very well be working with a tablet that is wi-fi only, and it may not be connected to the network for days. Or I may be working on a phone on a plane and want to check my schedule for when I arrive at my destination. Phone home systems generally prevent you from using the application (or at least using it fully) when the application cannot confirm the validity of the license. There's also included in this the also erroneous assumption that data, even in small amounts, should be freely available. The problem there is when you think about roaming with a phone - even a little blip of data can be expensive, and if you're overseas, it becomes a real factor. Just as counterpoint to the original post. I recently became a Mac user and am struggling with the Wine Implementation on the Mac to get MLO to work. On the other hand, some of us don't like putting our personal information on public servers and find it refreshing that MLO is bucking the trend and allowing us to sync on our own personal systems. When I got my first ipod touch I was very disillusioned that there were no apps that would simply sync with a pc. [MLO] Re: Currently I see no future in MLO
BRAVO. Instead of six or more development branches, MLO could have just two, both web based, one for pc and one for mobile. I'm glad to see someone else point this out. I brought this up within the past year in this forum, and subsequently rely more on toodledo for all my personal stuff, and MLO to just simply augment Microsoft OneNote for tracking my workflow in the office. If MLO didn't do heirarchical organization the way it does, I wouldn't use it at all. Something else you may not have run across is that MLO uses godaddy for some of their services which is blocked by our corporate policies and may be blocked by yours too. There is an android app in google play that works great but has no pc equivalent, but then thats where you use toodledo's web interface. Its called ULTIMATE TO-DO LIST. It looks ugly but thats because it uses a black background to conserve the battery. Michael Linenberger has an article on his blog about mobile task management and compensating for device OS platform differences. http://masteryourworkday.com/what-tasks-server-are-you-using On Tuesday, November 6, 2012 10:44:29 AM UTC+1, Darius wrote: I've checked a MLO roadmap and I must say I don't see a good future for MLO .
