I captured the output of mythfrontend -v all because I only get a
black screen and an unresponsive computer if I try to view any video in
mythtv. I can record just fine. I can view the mythtv
recorded files with mplayer with sound. I can do a mplayer
/dev/video0 and that works fine video an all.
I have been watching this thread as I have had similar issues.
Watching Live TV on either of my two front ends works fine.
Watching a Recording in Progress also seems to be ok.
When watching a previously recorded show the show will exit for some
reason. (Not sure why.) It is not always

Here is the ethernet traffic i observed during one such error. The
duplicate ACKs looks like it may be the issue ... but a grep through the
larger file show that this happens quite often ... at least in the 20
seconds or so that I captured...
Maybe you have to run the automatic transcoder? to

I am a gentoo user and recently upgraded from the official MythTV 0.16 ebuild
to a myth cvs ebuild. Since doing so, I am unable to get any sound on my
remote frontend when playing recorded files or watching live tv. My setup is
as follows:
PCHDTV HD-3000
Kernel 2.6.9
Intel ICH5 onboard audio
