[neonixie-l] more memories - Numitron!

2019-05-01 Thread martin martin
Since seeing some fine clocks made some years back, I couldn't resist
sharing this Numitron clock I made in the 80s. I used a MM5314 clock
chip.
For those in the know, you'll see "6" and "9" do not have the tail. This
was also known as Military digits made to view from afar without confusion.
I even used ceramic sockets!

for some of that information turned up this which I never saw before but
interestingly it seems to have a schematic near the bottom of the page.

I'll post the data I did find in the past to the files section.

BTW one of the annoying issues was finding a suitable edge connector to
mate to the module. The DC-106 edge is a non standard .093 thick.

[neonixie-l] Photos of equipment using E1T tubes

2019-05-01 Thread 'Grahame' via neonixie-l

Hi All

Has anyone any photos of equipment that use E1T tubes that they could
share and that I could use on my website please?

I have trawled for photos using google and think I have found much of
what is available online already. I have Electronic Counting Circuits by
JB Dance so have the photo from that book. So I'm looking for material
on the E1T that resides in private collections at the moment perhaps.

Ta Grahame

[neonixie-l] Re: Burroughs DC105 Nixie Tube Counting Module

2019-05-01 Thread Dekatron42
A general circuit for these (but with the Ericsson VS10G) can be found on
page 194 in "Electronic counting circuits" by Dance. There are small
variations between the whole series of Burroughs DC-modules that was mainly
made due to cost savings and which affected the counting speed - cheaper
tubes and simpler design which led to slower counting speeds.

Using the circuit diagram in the Dance book makes it easy to find the
pin-out of the Burroughs DC-modules.
