Accuracy wise, the google map is outdated in my area, the school has

Hello All,
I am very new to OSM. I attended my first mapping party in my area,
and now I am trying to finish uploading some of the data from my
traces. I only have a couple of waypoints, because I am slow like
that. Now I am tagging my points on Potlatch and trying to learn for
myself. Unfortu

Looking better from afar! It's difficult to know how well you are
doing at mapping what is on the ground as we aren't familiar with the
area. However, compari

Sounds to me like the best solution is:
highway=tertiary
surface=dirt (or gravel or whatever)
unfortunately, the current renderers don't do anything with the surface tag.
Hopefully in the future they will though. In my opinion, the relative
importance of a road should factor more heavily into

Hi,
Is there any web gui for translating like launchpad for openstreetmap.
Perhaps a web gui could be useful for translating a bulk of names at
once. Instead of localezing first the object, check if there are
translated or not and translate.
If you look it right, can I upload the names to laun
Thanks for all the constructive criticism their. Following the advice
I've redrawn most of the areas to share nodes, and completely re done
some tags. The church has also been completely re done, as I wasn't
happy with it.

Richard,
Thanks once again for creating and supporting such a great tool for OSM work!
I look forward to seeing the new toys in v2.0.

Hi all,
I'm pleased to announce Potlatch 1.3 - a new version with one major
improvement.
Potlatch now lets you zoom in as far as zoom level 23. Previous
versions only went up to z19, and even then with some loss of
positional accuracy.
This makes Potlatch much more suitable for tracing bui

I wrote a long post explaining why this was, then figured I might have a
go at seeing if it was fixable instead. So just wait for 1.3 which
should be along real soon
