I have a 1985 Nighthawk that has the engine partly disassembled. #2 cylinder has low compression and I started to work on it several years ago. I have all the parts and a new gasket set. I would like to give this bike to someone who would finish the repair and enjoy the ride. It has 4424

Also, take a second - (closer) look at those tires! With only 2000 miles on the bike I'm guessing that they are originals from the factory. That being said, they could be dry rotted due to age (18 yrs) but otherwise appear fine! Better safe than sorry. Good luck with your bike and safe riding.

My advice would be to get your hands on some service manuals (plural) and read up on your bike. The official Honda manual for your particular model is handy for learning about general maintenance and it has exploded views of how things come apart and go back together. It's good to augment

There is a date stamp on every tire, prior to year 2000 it was 3 digit numbers, the week # and the last digit of the year. So 268 could be june 1998 or June 1988. Now they are 4 digit so it would be 2603 for june 2003. If you tires are older than 3 years they will be hard and prone to loose

I found that the best way to practice your braking is but choosing a mark at which you will hit the brakes. Say a crack on the ground, a line, etc. Then riding on straight line at 10-20 mph I will see hit the brakes at the mark and see how far it took me to get to a complete stop. I will repeat
