Really you only need to know two, the boline (spelling?) And the half hitch.

Get one of these from Harbor Freight Tools. Untie it; is one long piece of
stretch cord (30” ??)
When you want to tie something down, stretch it back and forth – doubled is
quicker – until it is secure.
It will not scratch.
