Even if you managed to do it the bike would be highly unsafe, as the 750
frame and suspension is significantly beefier.

Well I only ride solo as the wife is too scared to try it out. And I'm just
not into cruisers, mainly because I only ride solo and don't need one. I do
like the look of the chrome fenders and I've gotten used to the enormous
tail light assembly. So depending on how it looks after I swap on the S

Hey gang! I'm having a problem with my headlight not coming on. 91 cb 750.
50,000miles. I've had the occasional no headlight on over the years when
starting, but I'd just turn the key off and on, and it would come on. Then last
week it would not come on, but the high beam worked for a little
With the key off, shoot a little contact cleaner into the starter button
area and work it a few times as a cheap/quick check against a dirty
internal contact. Do the same with your hi/lo switch. If either of these
gives you a headlight, you'll need to open up that switch's side pod and do

HI Greg,
Have you checked that the bulb is functional? You can connect it directly
to a battery charger if you have one. In mine case the filament was
perfect, but the connections in the bulb got bad. It will come on sometimes
if I giggle with onw of the three leads, but I just had to replace it.
Yeah, the bulbs are good. It seems to be the Hi Lo switch. If I wiggle the
switch, the light comes on.

I'm new with motorcycle maintenance. How do you remove the connectors on the
back side of the fuse box on a 1983 cb650sc? I tried pulling on them but they
would not budge.

Throw an ohmmeter across the switch to measure its resistance in each
position. Disconnected, of course, for best readings. Odds are good it's
just dirty, but you might have a broken/chafed supply wire instead.

They have retention clips that you squeeze then the plug will pull out,
however the 650 has a known issue where the main red/black/brown plug will
arc and melt the plastic connector to the plastic fuse block. It's still
possible to clean the fuseblock without removing that one plug however. I
