There are several Nighthawk groups in FB. 83-85 CB650 another general owner’s group, another for selling NH parts and even one for the 450. If you’re not on FB you’re missing out. But I understand not everyone wants to join FB. Sent from my iPhoneOn Mar 27, 2023, at 11:23 AM, John Reynolds

I have a Petcock to tank screen from an 84 CB650SC. If they are the same you
can have it, just pay postage from New Hampshire 03063. Jim.

Definitely remove the little cup and plastic screen. Very easy to do. If there
are chunks of rust in there you know you need to find a screen for your tank.
Apply a lil 3-in-1 oil to to the oring and cup threads while reassembling.

Have you tried running an extra ground wire from engine (at the starter) to the
frame (battery “door” bolt ?
The battery ground goes directly to the engine, not to the frame. Engine mounts
are rubber.
It’s worked for me before. Jim

Welcome aboard! Just clean your original air filter if you cant find an OEM one. Vacuum it from the inside and blow air from the outside… Visit your local motorcycle repair shop for a fuel filter. They have a ton of them behind the counter, usually the filter material looks like a rock … You

re; rattle noise under valve cover ... check ebay for Cam Chain Tension
Springs I had a bunch made up from a specialty spring manufacturer.
A little stronger than oem, you wont be disappointed... You'll need to
remove gas tank, coils, valve cover, cam shafts and tensioner assembly...
Check my listing on ebay ... I had 50 springs made up in Boston, stronger
than oem, stronger than McMaster Carr... I'm a member of another Nighthawk
Group, and everyone has been looking for springs so I ponied up and had
them made LMK if you cant find them on ebay. Jim Frazer
Check ebay ... I had springs made for my other Nighthawk Forum ... lmk if
you cant find them ... Jim Frazer
