You could go get some aircraft stripper. They have it at most auto part stores. Or get an orbital sander and 4 or 5 grades of paper and remove it. I need my tank that way. I have a post above about a café racer. Not sure about the plastics. You better research that. May have to just rough it up

I bought the HF ultra sonic cleaner. Used Simple green. Took off bowls and removed jets. Also top half. Very easy. Did two carbs for 30 minutes the flipped it and then the other two. Let soak and repeated it. Came out like new. I also have a Valkyrie so I know carbs. It has six. I've done all
