RE: [NSWolves] MM has no brain!
I used to think you were an optimistic supporter Steve, but I've come to realise that you are simply a fair-weather supporter who is happy to accept mediocrity. Heaven forbid we should try and develop as a team and aspire to greater things. Let's not bother turning up each week as there's no point. It's not really pushing the boat out too far to draw a possible conclusion that after 5 years perhaps Mick's team has taken us as far as he can go. Just Like Sir Jack decided that he couldn't take us to the next step as a club and sold us to Morgan, it is quite conceivable that it might be time to try a different approach in the coaching department. There is no denying that Mick has achieved stuff that previous managers haven't done for many, many years but the fact is we have stagnated. If you're happy with the supposed progress we have made since last season (adding one central defender and a 3rd choice goalkeeper) and our worst sequence of results in 30 years, then I would question your level of ambition and whether you genuinely have concerns for the direction of our club. RE: [NSWolves] MM has no brain!
Truly disappointing display. Why MM is sticking with players that are either a/ out of form or b/ not up to it, is beyond me. Berra - WWF might be on Foxtel, but his defensive weaknesses are beyond a joke. I'd much rather see Craddock get a run. Stearman - every time I see him make a run up the wing it reminds me of a foal who's taking their first steps and hasn't worked out how to put one foot in front of the other. You can see his lack of confidence as when he does got forward, he'll push a pass backwards, lose it, or trip over. Bring on Zubar. Hammill - I'd like to see more of him, with Hunt on the other wing. Hammill seems as tenacious as Hunt, whilst Jarvis needs a spell. Guedioura - being wasted IMO. He likes to take on defenses and push forward. I'd rather see him on than Henry. Milijas - Definitely on for JOH say no more. Doyle - maybe bring on SEB for a while, and whilst Fletcher is injured, give Edwards a go as the tall go to forward? The problem is MM won't do this. Whether it's pride or just plain stupidity I don't know. I really don't see this current team performing much better than what they are. We can’t play it through the middle because Henry can’t pass it forward and O’Hara is always trying for the “Hoddle Wonder Pass” that never comes off! Aside from one comment made immediately after the match this morning after watching 90 minutes of dross, I don't believe I have criticised Mick. Certainly the email below did not make any disparaging remarks about Mick, it was merely a request to get your comments on the teams performance, team selections and tactics being employed by mercurial mick. RE: [NSWolves] MM has no brain!
For once Steve I'd like to hear you comment on the team performance, the tactics that were employed, rationalise the team selections and formations being employed by the mercurial Mick McCarthy, rather than just relying on your argument that "can't think of anyone better so we should keep him". This constant and repetitive request for names of possible replacements for Mick is tedious. Based on the past 6 weeks of performances I wouldn't care if Bennie from Crossroads and Hilda Ogden from Coronation Street took over. The team simply hasn't got a clue at the moment under Mick's guidance. If Mick is so great maybe you can find the time to explain what it is the rest of us supporters are missing in the weekly performances to suggest that he's worthy of keeping his job. (I can send you recordings of the matches if, by remote chance, you haven't seen any of the matches this season). All we try and do is get the ball wide to either Jarvis or Hammil, who then proceed to give the ball away! The crossing last night and in previous games has been shambolic! We can’t play it through the middle because Henry can’t pass it forward and O’Hara is always trying for the “Hoddle Wonder Pass” that never comes off! Never thought I’d say it but Ward was our best Player last night. Doyle missed from 2 yards and Johnson missed from about 5 yards, they were our best chances. The sad thing is the Baggies were not that good. Fletcher apparently has a torn calf so will be out for a while. Dark days ahead!
