Re: [NSWolves] What do we think?

2012-05-11 Thread paul
As long as we keep Fletcher and build a team around him we will do well.

The rest we can sell and replace as Stale sees fit.

That's my wish anyway. 3m for Henry come on McLeish!

I am pleased that we've got a manager with experience of European
football. It's a bit of a coup for us as he will be one of the most
successful managers working in the English leagues.

I'm actually very happy with it. Hopefully he can sign some players from
Europe and will have some pulling power with stars.

I have a fear that the Championship is no place for someone to come to
English football and expectations are high. A bad start to the season and
things will turn nasty like they did at Koln.

Be interesting to see who leaves and who stays now. Might be time to cash
in on some of our stars and start with some fresh talent.

2012-05-11 Thread Paul Crowe
Well, it's official, Stale will take over on Monday and has signed a
contract.

We have been stale for too long, maybe this new guy's name is an omen and it
will be a fresh start for the Wolves!

Whatever happens I think this is a brave decision and hopefully will be the
right one. Time will tell.

The fans need to be united on this, get behind him and give him a chance,
which I think the vast majority will do.

Here's one for your archives Mr. Millward, we were saying Stale who in
recent days? I'm optimistic we will get to the FA Cup semi-final or better
in the next 3 years with this chap! Put your money on now.

"If he's given the freedom to make wholesale changes to the way the club is
setup"?

Marcus, I agree. Not sure we need wholesale changes but certainly a good
clearout of player's and a new approach to our coaching and method of play.

By making an early appointment we will certainly be giving him enough time
to evaluate the current set of player's.

Not sure about keeping TC on as coach though?

The more I think about this appointment then the more positive I am feeling.
Let's be honest the people we would want as our next Manager are currently
in a job, the ones like Bruce and Curbishley that are available have been
interviewed and not deemed suitable or declined the offer. Maybe MM and SM
have been forced to look overseas?

If he's given the freedom to make wholesale changes to the way the club is
setup, then I don't mind if it takes 3 years to get back. I have really
enjoyed watching teams like Swansea and Blackpool over the past couple of
seasons as they have shown a huge amount of confidence in the attractive style
of football they have played. If this bloke has the same impact at Wolves then
I'm all for it.

Not sure what to make of this appointment. Seems like something for the
medium term rather than a quick bounceback. Our first ever manager from
outside the British Isles.

sounds like he's going to have his work cut out at Wolves with this current
squad... defensive foundations. PMSL

"Solbakken's Copenhagen side become known for it's tight, technical play
built on strong defensive foundations and pacey counterattack.
Copenhagen's first league title was achieved with fewer goals scored than
any title-winning Danish team for forty-six years."

I can only assume that he's placing more value in Champions League experience
than Premier League experience.

Anyone know what style of play he developed while in Denmark?
