Re: [NTG-context] questions on ctxtools and line break.
Dear Mojca, Yue, and Hans, Thank you for the help. I updated ConTeXt and LuaTeX using rsync to the foler .../texlive/ 2008/../texmf-local. "texmfstart texexec --make (--xtx) --all" run smoothly, but luatools still has a cnf error. I'll do it again from the beginning when I have time. However, it works fine in ConTeXt-minimal. One day Mr. Wolfgang tried to do some work to set up standardization of CJK for MKIV. However, it is not easy because Korean use space between words. The rules of line break for Korean is simple in saying. We don't need any hyphenation inside word, so if it is longer than the \textwidth, just make a line break at that position. There may be a little adjustment to make it right flush. For the details of the line breaking system for Korean, I'll talked to the people in KTUG. Some experts in KTUG will answer how to do that. For ConTeXt, there is a font-kor.tex(by nomos) file which enable to use Korean in ConTeXt. So they know what and how to do. I hope that we find a good solution which is also good for the implementation in MKIV. Thank you again. [NTG-context] calling a function with complex parameters
Dear All, I need to fill a lua table with data, and some values may be tables. How to supply that data from ConTeXt? The most straightforward way is to make user fill a string with lua code of table initiaiser and then use "loadstring". In this case the syntax is laconic, but resilence in case of errors is zero. The other way is to have the user to call series of functions, building the complex structure from ground up by making basic stuctures and adding them to final structure one by one. In this case the passed parameters can be scrutinized for correctness, but multiple calls like "addsmthtosmth", "setsmthinsmth" will make the result uneasy to read, to say nothing of writing. What is considered kosher in ConTeXt? Where can I found examples? Sincerely, Michail PS. data that has to be passed to function will look like (example is not lua): -- name = "3D surface"; toolbar = TRUE; // display 3D toolbar tree = TRUE;// display model tree views = ( { name = "DefaultView"; // first view (default) projection = { perspective = TRUE;// Perspective projection aac = 2.5; // View angle }; camera = { // Camera position, see movie15 manual for explaination coo = [ 0, 0, 0 ]; // Center of orbit - where the camera are pointed to c2c = [ 0, 0, 1 ]; // vector from coo directed to camera rot = [40, 0,60 ]; // rotatations of vector from coo directed to camera around Ox, Oy, Oz roo = 50; // distance from coo to camera roll = 0; // camera rotation angle }; bg = [ 1.0, 1.0, 1.0 ]; // Background color lights = "CAD"; // Lighting scheme nodes = ( ( "xlabel", 1.0, TRUE ), ( "ylabel", 1.0, TRUE ), ("Small box", 1.0, TRUE) ); }, { name = "CrossView"; // view with a crossection projection = { perspective = TRUE;// Perspective projection aac = 2.5; // View angle }; camera = { // Camera position, see movie15 manual for explaination coo = [ 0, 0, 0 ]; // Center of orbit - where the camera are pointed to c2c = [-1,-1, 0 ]; // vector from coo directed to camera roo = 50; // distance from coo to camera roll = 0; // camera rotation angle crossection = { point = [ 0, 0, 0 ]; normal = [ -1, -1, -1 ]; intersection = TRUE; transparent = FALSE; }; bg = [ 1.0, 1.0, 1.0 ]; // Background color lights = "CAD"; // Lighting scheme nodes = ( ( "xlabel", 1.0, TRUE ), ( "ylabel", 1.0, TRUE ), ("Small box", 1.0, TRUE) ); } } -- ___ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : https://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___

Re: [NTG-context] Important: ConTeXt Minimals and --delete/--keep switch
Mojca, Thanks so much for your help. When all of this gets sorted out, we need to update the wiki! d) I think that it does make sense for --delete to be a default option, yielding a clean "minimal" installation. c) I also think that the --extras=list,of,modules is a fine syntax, as this is intended to include extra modules on top of the minimal installation. (Your suggestion of "--modules=" might be confusing, as many modules, such as "bib" or "chemic" to name two that I use, appear to indeed be included as standard in the minimal installation.) I tried "./first-setup.sh --extras=lettrine,tikz", however, this seems to be broken: the extra modules were not downloaded. I then tried "--extras=all" and now have a "non-minimal minimal" installation with which I'm happy. There appears, however, to be a bug in mtx-update.lua... but I haven't learned enough yet about its syntax in order to find the error. Sorry! a) I don't like the idea of modifying first-setup.sh, as problem would be that of maintenance as my local version might risk to miss important modifications made to this file. My preference is therefore to have locally a simple shell script (update.sh): rsync -ptv rsync://contextgarden.net/minimals/setup/first-setup.sh . ./first-setup.sh --extras=all or whatever be ones personal preferences. b) texmf-local is good for other files that have not yet made it into the contextgarden (or that will probably not be included). One example of this is pgfplots. Finally, documentation is sorely missing. Of course the wiki will need to be updated. I hesitate always to do this until I feel that I really understand what is going on. I would also like to see a --help option (to be parsed by mtx-update.lua). [NTG-context] luatex and javascript
Hi, I've searched the list and it seems that no one has been occurred to my problem. Has the javascript interface gone? 'cause I failed the following simplest file: \setupinteraction[state=start] \starttext A few years back, \TEX\ could only produce \fillinfield [dvi] {DVI} output, but nowadays, thanks to \fillinfield {Han The Thanh}, we can also directly produce \fillinfield [pdf] {PDF}! Nice eh? Actually, while the first field module was prototyped in ACROBAT, the current implementation was debugged in \fillinfield [pdfTeX] {\PDFTEX}. Field support in \fillinfield [ConTeXt] {\CONTEXT} is rather advanced and complete and all kind of fields are supported. One can hook in appearances, and validation \fillinfield [JavaScripts] {JAVASCRIPT}'s. Fields can be cloned and copied, where the latter saves some space. By using \fillinfield {objects} when suited, this module saves space anyway. \stoptext It's copied from the mwidget-s.pdf My luatex is 0.30.3, and I just run "luatools --generate" and "ctxtools --update" today. No, unfortunately (and I fear it it would not be trivial to add because of the interaction between metapost and tex inside flow charts). I have in fact a personal wishlist for the flowcharts module that is a whole lot longer (I basically want generic graph behavior, like in Visio/Dia or GraphViz) but I doubt I will ever get around to implementing it.
