Re: [NTG-context] Steps in presentation (pol stra)

Dear Pol stra,

I run your sample and got the same error.
After changing pre-stepwise to pre-60, I run it again, but the same error
occurs.

 !LuaTeX error: There should have been a lua node here, not an object with

I checked my file which include \StartSteps … \StopSteps and got the same
error. It was working well before.

Unfortunately, I don't know what is the problem. Experts will answer to it soon.

My ConTeXt version is :

[NTG-context] \startchapter[title=Test] is not working inside \startcomponent

2012-09-04 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Listers,

\startchapter[title=Test] is working inside \starttext and \stoptext.
But it is not working inside \startcomponent and \stopcomponent.
Is it a natural behavior?

I am using iMac, OSX Mountain Lion.
And the ConTeXt version is ConTeXt ver: 2012.08.28 20:00 MKIV fmt: 2012.9.4

A short test file is:

%\startcomponent
\starttext

\startchapter[title=Test]

\input knuth
\stopchapter

\stoptext
%\stopcomponent

Thank you for reading.

Tomorrow, I will run your first-setup.sh in a iMac which had a problem to

I'll report the result tomorrow.

There may be different setting in a terminal as Mojca said.

[NTG-context] About Chapter head definition and FunnyFrame

2012-09-02 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I have two questions.

1. I defined \Myheader and use it to shape the chapter head as following:

\def\Myheader#1#2{%
\framedtext
[width=\overlaywidth,
height=9\bodyfontsize,
background=color,
backgroundcolor=lightgray,
offset=2pt,
strut=no,
frame=off,

{
{\tfb 제 #1 장}
\blank[big]
{\sans #2} }}

\startsectionblockenvironment[bodypart]
\setupheadertexts[][{\tfx COUNTING}]
\setuppagenumber[number=1]
\setuppagenumbering[alternative={singlesided,doublesided},location={footer,right}]
\setuphead[chapter][command=\Myheader,before={\dontleavehmode\blank[2*big]},after={\blank[5*big]},
 page=right]
\stopsectionblockenvironment

….

\chapter{The Addition Principle \crlf {\tfx Sum Rule}}

….

But it produces an error which is

…
! Argument of \Myheader has an extra }.

systemtex error on line 94 in file SumRule.tex
…

What is wrong in this code?

2. I used funnyFrame defined in the MetaFun book. It works fine except that
it is left aligned. I'd like to put such a frame in the middle. But
\startalignment[middle] didn't work.
Is there any way to make FunnyFrame center aligned?

Thank you for the reading.

Re: [NTG-context] How to draw a red frame of a row in a matrix?

2012-07-25 Thread dalyoung
Dear Hans,

Thank you for quick answer and for reminding me \mframed.
\mframed is working if I enclose one term like ... \NC{\mframed[]{x+y}}\NC
...\NC\NR.
But I'd like to enclose the whole row in one frame.
I apply \mframed to every term and get close result except there are gaps
between frames.

I tried \mframed in a few different ways, but not succeed. \HL in
\startalign...\stopalign is not working either.

I think that \framed and \startformula\startalign have strong characters for
each, it is not easy to combine them smoothly.
It is just my guess.

So far, using \mframed for each term is the best result.

Thank you again.

Re: [NTG-context] about \startformula\startalign error

2012-07-22 Thread dalyoung
Dear Aditya,

 \startformula must occur inside a vbox. So, use a matrix environment as you
 are doing, or wrap the formula inside a \framed[align=normal].

Thank you for your solution.

\framed[frame=off,align=normal]{\startformula\startalign ...
\stopalign\stopformula}

is working.

I have two more questions.

1. In the output of the following code, 'x' in the first column is vertically
centered, but matrix in the second column is not(located at top). What option
can solve this?

\starttable[|c|c|w4cm|w4cm|]
\HL
\NC A \VL B \VL C \VL D \NC\SR
\HL
\NC $x$ \VL \startmatrix
\NC x' = \NC \NR
\NC y' = \NC \NR
\stopmatrix \VL \VL \NC\SR
\HL
\stoptable

2. In the output of the following code, the matrix in the second column is
vertically centered, but 'x' in the first column is located at the bottom.

\starttext
\starttable[|c|c|w4cm|w4cm|]
\HL
\NC A \VL B \VL C \VL D \NC\SR
\HL
\NC $y$ \VL {\framed[frame=off, align=normal]{\startformula\startalign
\NC x' = \NC \NR
\NC y' = \NC \NR
\stopalign\stopformula}} \VL \VL \NC\LR
\HL
\stoptable
\stoptext

Both of them are good for compiling, but need a slight touch.

Would you please tell me how to set all columns vertical centered?

[NTG-context] report of strange(?) output depending on the location of \StartSteps ... \StopSteps

2012-07-21 Thread dalyoung
Dear all,

This is a small thing which is OK to be ignored.
Please pardon me if it is a noise for you.

I used to use \usemodule[pre60] for step by step output for presentation.
Some time ago, I faced a strange pdf output.

For example, I want two steps inside the second item. So, I use the following:

\usemodule[pre60]
...
...

Test of \tex{StartSteps}.
\blank
\startitemize
\item first item
\item second item
\StartSteps
\startitemize
\item flush 1 \FlushStep
\item flush 2 \FlushStep
\stopitemize
\StopSteps
\item third item
\stopitemize

\page
\starttable[|c|c|c|c|c|c|]
\HL
\VL \VL A \VL B \VL C \VL D \VL E \VL\FR
\HL
\VL \VL 2\VL 1\VL 3\VL 2\VL 2\VL\SR
\HL
\stoptable
...

I got correct steps flush1 and flush 2, but the table after the steps was
disappeared.(just white page)
If I change the order of table and items, both are displayed and worked well. I
have tested in many ways to know why the table disappeared after \StartStep. I
found that it is neither the order of the code nor the some other settings.

It is the level of the location of \StartSteps.
If I put \StartSteps in the first level of itemization, there is no problem. Of
course, I have to put more \FlushStep like

Test of \tex{StartSteps}.
\blank
\StartSteps
\startitemize
\item first item
\item second item \FlushStep
\StartSteps
\startitemize
\item flush 1 \FlushStep
\item flush 2 \FlushStep
\stopitemize
\StopSteps
\item third item \FlushStep
\stopitemize

\page
\starttable[|c|c|c|c|c|c|]
\HL
\VL \VL A \VL B \VL C \VL D \VL E \VL\FR
\HL
\VL \VL 2\VL 1\VL 3\VL 2\VL 2\VL\SR
\HL
\stoptable

I report this just for information which may be already known to Hans,
Wolfgang, et al.

One appreciation is that \StartSteps ... \StopSteps works well with
Simpleslides module nicely!

Thanks and have a nice weekend.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

I didn't nest the \StartSteps ...\StopSteps, but I used it in a nested

Now, I understand why such a strange output was produced.

Dear Woldgang and Marco,

Thank you for your correction.

It works after bracing the \externalfigure command.
Now, I have to modify the numbers of header, footer, etc to make my style.

I also change the order of \setupexternalfigure[directory=...] and

Now, I don't have to keep two mode my own and simple slides. Instead, I
just use simpleslides-s-myown.

Re: [NTG-context] write my own text in the header

2012-07-18 Thread dalyoung
Dear Hans and Thomas,

Thank you for the reply.

First, I tried

\setupbackgrounds [page] [background=yellow-spring,  state=repeat]

but, there is no change.

After the change page to text, my figure appears but it covers slide title.

I couldn't test

\setupbackgrounds [page] [background={yellow-spring,exist-thing},  state=repeat]

yet.

As you said, I think that the best way to use my own figure as a background in
SimpleSlide is to make my own slide template.
I found simpleslides-template.tex and I may try to modify it to make a style
file.
I hope that I can do it using other samples.

Thank you again.

[NTG-context] write my own text in the header

2012-07-17 Thread dalyoung
Dear all,

I have two questions.

1. I'd like to write various text in the header differently at every page.
It is like SlideTitle{} used in the simpleslide module.

I tried \setupheadertexts[text] at the beginning of every page.
But only the text defined at last appeared at the header of every page.

Is there a way to do such a job?

2. Is it possible to use my own figure as a background under the simpleslide
module?
-- Example--

\usemodule[simpleslides][style=HorizontalStripes,font=]

\defineoverlay[yellow-spring][{\externalfigure[./background/yellowspring][width=\paperwidth]}]
\setupbackgrounds[page][background=yellow-spring]

\dontleavehmode
\blank[.5cm]
\placefigure[none][]{}
{\getbuffer[TitleOfSlides]}
\blank[1.5cm]
\placefigure[none][]{}
{\getbuffer[Speaker]}
\page

\component TestPage
...

--Output

The background yellow-spring is appeared in the first page(Title page), but
from the second page only horizontalstripes appeared.

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] vertical alignment in the header text

2012-06-14 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

In the following sample, header text located at the top of the header.
But, I'd like to align the header text in vertical center.
I tried \dontleavehmode, \vfill, top=\vss, etc, but I couldn't succeed.

\setuplayout[header=1cm, width=18cm, backspace=1.5cm]
\setupbackgrounds[header][text][bottomframe=on,topframe=on]
\setupheadertexts[][header\hfill header\hfill header]
\setuppagenumbering[location=footer]
\starttext
\input knuth
\stoptext

How to control the vertical alignment in the header?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Dear Hans,

Thank you for your solution.
I tried \dontleavehmode\vfill infront of the header text which invoked an error.
I didn't think about \setupheader.

Thank you again.

[NTG-context] about \hangaround, defineenumeration

2012-05-19 Thread dalyoung
Dear all,

I defined enumerations Theorem, Proof, and Example as in the sample code.
It works fine, but I'd like to arrange it in better shape.

1. Theorem 1 and it's proof look good.

2. The proof of Theorem 2
i) when I use \startitemize it starts from the next line not
immediately after Proof.
 Q: How to start the sentence right after Proof?

ii) after \stopitemize, it changes the line and put blacksquare at the
end. So, there is a blank line always.
 Q: How to place blacksquare at the end of the last line of the
sentence?

iii) leading symbol of itemize, b is inside the figure.
 Q: How to correct this or is it possible to place the figure at the
right side?

3. I'd like to put Example and it's number in a frame, but I couldn't. Is
there a way of doing that? Should I make a new command to do that?

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

 Just a remark: for cjk one can best use the mkiv feature to combine
 fonts; there are probably some examples of korean fonts mixed with e.g.
 palatino or times in the email archive.

Here is a sample typescript file for mixed Korean and English fonts suggested
by Hans.

Using this file, I can use Korean font for Korean and Palatino for English.
It works well.

 You can modify this file for your purpose.

Good luck!

Dear Severin,

Try the following in the preamble.

\usetypescriptfile[your-typescript file-name]%if you save it as another file.
\usetypescript[MyIPAex]
\setupbodyfont[Myface, rm, 12pt]

I hope that it helps you.
If it doesn't work for you, then other experts can tell you something.

Simplefont is a good module which makes font-definition easy. But the different
style of the name of Korean fonts hindered me to use it. There may be a way to
use simplefont for Korean fonts which I don't know yet.

I use a Korean unfont as main fonts and an English fonts as fallback font using

You may set fonts similarly.

Korean fonts contained Chinese glyph(not all of them) and Japanese glyph, we

[NTG-context] about \startcombination

case 2: If I changed [3*1] to [2*1], then no errors. But the output is as same
as the case of [1*2], that is, two cows are aligned vertically not horizontally.

\placefigure[][]{}
{\startcombination[2*1]
{\externalfigure[cow][width=.3\makeupwidth]}
{\externalfigure[cow][width=.3\makeupwidth]}

Since there is no question about this in the list, I wonder it happens in my
system only.
Would you please test the above?

The versions of LuaTeX and of ConTeXt are as following:

This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.70.1-2011051908 (rev 4277)

[NTG-context] how to handle the fonts whose name contains a blank space?

2011-12-29 Thread dalyoung
Dear all,

Sometime ago, I asked the same question and got replies.
However, I couldn't make it work and I didn't try since then.

Now, I am asking the same question again with a hope.

I have several Korean fonts whose name contains a blank space.

For example, in KoPubBatang_Pro family, there are 3 fonts:
 KoPubBatang_Pro Light (font file name is KoPubBatang_Pro Light.otf)
 KoPubBatang_Pro Medium (font file name is KoPubBatang_Pro Medium.otf)
 KoPubBatang_Pro Bold (font file name is KoPubBatang_Pro Bold.otf)

You can download the fonts from here:
http://www.mcst.go.kr/web/notifyCourt/notice/mctNoticeView.jsp?pSeq=6870

Here is a sample code:

\definefont[test][KoPubBatang_Pro Light.otf]
\starttext
\test
This is a test for KoPubBatang font.
한글이 잘 써지는지 봅시다.

\stoptext

But I got the following messages in the log file.

fonts defining font with asked name 'KoPubBatang_Pro' is not found using
lookup 'file'

)/Users/graph/ConTeXt/tex/texmf/fonts/opentype/public/lm/lmroman12-regular.otf

Is there any hints for this?

Thanks for reading and Happy New Year!

[NTG-context] scaling the mp figure in ConTeXt

2011-11-13 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I use MetaFun to create a figure and embed it using \processMPbuffer[].
for example,

\startbuffer[test]
draw fullcircle scaled 3cm;
\stopbuffer

\starttext
\placefigure[][]{}
\processMPbuffer[test]
\stoptext

But sometimes, I need to rescaling the mp figure to fit the page.
Is there a way of rescaling the figure at the stage \processMPbuffer or
\useMPgraphic?

In the above example, I got a circle of radius 3cm. How to get a circle of
radius 2cm?

Thank you for reading.

best regards,

Dalyoung

For the header text, I used \getmarking as follows:

\setupheadertexts[][{\getmarking[{\v!title}]}]

I changed it by using the definition as follows:

\def\Mytitle#1{%
\framedtext
[width=\overlaywidth,
height=5\bodyfontsize,
background=color,
backgroundcolor=lightgray,
offset=2pt,
strut=no,
frame=off,

\setuphead[title][textcommand=\Mytitle]

Re: [NTG-context] about suppressing prefix in section number

2011-07-17 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for the solutions.

But for the question 2, I didn't explain well what I want to.

Actually, the codes

 \def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
 \defineconversion[cnum][\circlednum]

working well by saying that \startitemize[cnum][stopper=] ...
And, your suggested method works well, too.

My question is that is it able to define new itemize header, for example,
circled number using \defineitemgroup so that I got circled number in the 3rd
level automatically without saying that \startitemize[cnum].
In the wiki,
  \defineitemgroup[ltxitm][levels=5]
  %
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][1][1]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][2][2]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][3][3,packed]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][4][4,packed]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][5][5,packed]
  %
I tried to define the third level with cnum, but it is not working. Some
official documents has their own numbering system. In that case, it is very
convenient to define new itemgroup following its rule and forget defining the
symbol for each level every time.
There is no problem to use predefined symbols but I couldn't succeed to insert
my defined symbol for some level.
Is there a way to do that?

Thank you again.

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] unwanted page break

2011-07-17 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I have a strange output today.

Writing a sentences, it makes a page break even though there are enough space
for the remaining sentences.

Here are sample output.(the lines is a frame)
As you see there are enough space, I think.

inline: bottom.tiff

inline: topnewpage.jpg

Sometimes, the section title is located at the bottom of the page, so I put
\page to make the new section starts from a new page. In this case, is it
possible to make section starts from a new page without saying \page?

[NTG-context] about suppressing prefix in section number

2011-07-16 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Hi,

Here are a few questions.

1. The output of

\section{one}
\section{two}

is

1.1 one
1.2 two

But is it possible to suppress the prefix chapter number like

1 one
2 two
?

2. When defining custom itemgroup, we can set each level using the predefined
item headers, like n, r, 1, 2, , and it works fine.
I am trying to use newly defined conversion, but I couldn't succeed. Is it
possible to set an itemgroup using predefined item and custom made item head
like

\def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
\defineconversion[cnum][\circlednum]
?

Thank you and Have a nice weekend.

[NTG-context] Metafun: shifting picture

2011-06-22 Thread dalyoung
Hi,

I am trying to draw dominos using metapost and ConTeXt.

I borrow part of the code in Threeddice.mp by Dan Lueking for drawing dots.

To display blank dominos where I want and drawing one domino work well but
drawing several dominos where I want is not working well.
(compare domino0 and domino1 in the example)

Why do the dominos overlap or locate on the wrong place?

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Changing the code as following, it moves to the correct location.
There may be a problem using

Instead of using

apply the shift directly to draw pips.
I just guess that some number are not cleared when I use pic:=...

Re: [NTG-context] Metafun shifting pictures - again

2011-06-22 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Hi all,

I got the reason why the pictures locate in different position.
rotation causes the problem.

I defined domino as follows.
It is not the exact code but just show the form of the codes.

...
def domino (a, b, c, d  )
save pic;
picture pic;
draw something 1;
draw something 2;
pic := currentpicture;
draw pic rotated 90 shifted ( c, d );
enddef;

and call it using

\startbuffer[domino3]
domino (1, 2, 3, 4);
domino (2, 1, 1, 2);
domino (3, 3, 2, 3);
\stopbuffer

and \processMPbuffer[].

it draw the first domino at the right place, but it is rotated when the second
domino is drawn. Hence, it actually rotated 180 degree. Also two dominos
rotated again when the third domino is drawn.
Previous drawings are rotated again again when the function domino called.

How to avoid this problem? How to draw one figure and move to wanted position
and draw another figure and move to another location without changing the
previous figure?

If you want to see the whole codes, please see the attachment in the previous
mail in ntg-context Digest, Vol 84, Issue 94.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

2011-06-01 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Hans and Wolfgang,

Thank you for the comments and samples.

 What exactly do you plan to do with the language check, for simple texts your
 method is overkill and labeltexts are better suited, even a command which
 prints a text can be written in TeX without problems:

Yes, you are right. Those methods are beyonds of my normal use.
For me, either \doifelse or context.setvalue is enough to set some labels
depending on two languages, Korean and English. However, it is a good
oppertunity to know various methods and lua codes.

I didn't know that \labeltext can do the same thing. Your sample gives me a new
ideas to handle them.

Thank you so much.

[NTG-context] checking mainlanguage setup

2011-05-27 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

Is it possible to check what is the mainlanguage set in document?
Now, I use \enablemode[kr] to do something A. But, I'd like to do it
automatically if possible.

For example,

I'd like to do the following type of setup.

if mainlanguage == kr then

do something A

elseif mainlanguage == en then

do something B

else
do something C

endif

So, if \mainlanguage[kr] is set, then do A, and etc.

Thank you for reading.

Re: [NTG-context] checking mainlanguage setup

2011-05-27 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Pontus, Marco, and Peter,

Thank you for replies.

I tested the following codes:

1)
\startluacode
if languages.current() == kr then
context(Korean)
else
context(Not Korean)
end
\stopluacode

2)
\doifelse\currentlanguage{en}{\def\lang{English}}{\def\lang{Not English}}\par
currentlanguage: \lang

are working well.

But, the code

\startluacode
if languages.current() == kr then
context([[\def\lang{Korean}]]) %(\def\lang{Korean})
else
context([[\def\lang{English}]]) %(\def\lang{Korean})
end
\stopluacode

currentlanguage: \lang

is not working. (undifined control sequence error)

I think that there is a simple way to use lua code for this which I don't know.
I have to read CLD manual.

Thanks again.

Dear Wolfgang,

Your animation module works really fine.
It reduces a lot of work to set the fieldstack.

I'd like to ask you a few more small things.

1) Is it possible to set the duration time in the case of autoplay?
2) The location of buttons is leftaligned when [menu=yes]. Is it what you want
or I did something wrong?
3) What is the meaning of \start and \stop in animation-1.tex?
4) In your animation-2.tex, the size of buttons can be controlled by setting
foregroundstyle. Then, how to apply it to \startanimation?

Thank you.

Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for the files.

 Yes, the code is a separate module and you can download it here:
 https://bitbucket.org/wolfs/animation/src

I downloaded in .zip file, and found many files.
I copied t-animation.mkvi ../texmf-local/tex/context and run luatools
--generate.

After that try your sample file animation-1.tex and got a undefined control
sequence - \startanimation.

The fact is that luatools didn't locate it.
Should I do some more things to make it work?
Is the module name t-animation.mkvi not ~.mkiv?

Thank you again.

 \stopanimation

 and all the necessary symbols etc. are generated by the environment.

It is great. Should I include some module? Where can I find it?

But I couldn't make it work with lines of formulas. I think that it is not
working with \NC, \NR structure.

I'll try t-rsteps and thank you for the file. It is another good way to make
slides.

Thank you.

[NTG-context] displaying lines of formulas one by one

2011-05-12 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to show the following formula line by line in a presentation,
For example,
\startformula\startalign
\NC T(4) \NC = T(3) + 4 \NR
\NC \NC= T(2) + 3 + 4 \NR
\NC \NC= T(1) + 2 + 3 + 4 \NR
\NC \NC= 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 \NR
\stopalign\stopformula

I tried to use \StartSteps and \StopSteps but not succeed.

\starttext
\usemodule[pre-60]

\StartSteps
\startformula\startalign
\NC T(4) \NC = T(3) + 4 \NR\FlushStep %(nor \FlushStep\NR)
\NC \NC= T(2) + 3 + 4 \NR\FlushStep
\NC \NC= T(1) + 2 + 3 + 4 \NR\FlushStep
\NC \NC= 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 \NR\FlushStep
\stopalign\stopformula
\StopSteps

\stoptext

Is there a way to do so?

Thank you.

[NTG-context] writing a label with a subscript in MetaFun.

2011-04-19 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to write a label with a subscript in MetaFun where the subscript is a
variable.

I tried in several way but not succeed. The best which I made is

for i= 0 upto 8:
label( z  decimal i, z[i]);
endfor;

So the output is z1, z2, z3, ...
And, the following commands are not working.

label(btex z_i etex, z[i]); no error but the value of i is not listed.
label(btex z_\MPvar{i} etex, z[i]);  error

Is there a good way to do that?

Thank you for reading.

Re: [NTG-context] circled number for item head (Wolfgang Schuster)

2011-03-21 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for reminding me the thread.
I also found it yesterday evening and it made me realize how dumb I am.

I am so sorry to give you a needless work.

I'd like to ask you one more.
I was looking for a way to use some characters as an item head like
\startitemize[a] because an official document usually use numbers and some
characters as item heads.
For consecutive characters in unicode, it is possible to do that using unicode.

 \def\circledja#1{\uchar{50}{95+#1}}
 \def\circledga#1{\uchar{50}{109+#1}}
 \def\circleden#1{\uchar{36}{207+#1}}

and \defineconversion[][].

But for characters which are not listed consecutively, I don't know how to make
it appear automatically.
I may use \sym{}
AC00, B098, B2E4, B77C, ...
These are the same characters in the area 320E ~ 321B without parenthesis.
Is it possible to make those characters appear automatically as item heads?

I hope that it is not a silly question.

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] circled number for item head

2011-03-20 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to use circled number for item head.
I found one method which use a counter as follows:

 \def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
\defineconversion[myitem][\circlednum]

\starttext
\startitemize[myitem, pack]
\item 111
\item 222
\item 333
\item 444
\item 555
\stopitemize
\stoptext

But it has a limitation of numbers. I think that there is a better way for this
like using overlay something, I guess.

Is there any general method which is good for any letter?

Thanks for reading.

Dear Tom,

good to hear that minimal is working fine.

 I had the same experience that you had with the Introduction not showing up
 in the TOC. Do you know how to report a bug?

I think that completecontent doesn't recognize the user defined intro. It is
all what I can tell you.
If you have no special reason to define \intro, you may use \chapter to make it
appear in TOC.

This mailing list is a place to report a bug.
If it is a real bug, then Hans will correct it, otherwise many experts who are
watching mails suggest you a good solution.

Re: [NTG-context] Am not getting Roman numeral page numbers in MKIV

2011-03-13 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Tom,

 What version are you using?

I am using minimal not TeXlive2010. Of course, there are some bugs in beta. But
it would be fixed soon.
Moreover, you can have more than one Minimal folder. So it is easy to use
stable version if the beta has bugs.

 BTW, where did you read to use front part instead of frontmatter?

There was a thread whose title is Roman Page numbers.
And among the mails on 2009. 2. 4, there was a sample written by Wolfgang .

\definestructureconversionset[frontpart:pagenumber][][romannumerals]
\definestructureconversionset[bodypart:pagenumber] [][numbers]

\setuplist[chapter][pageconversionset=pagenumber]

\startstructureblockenvironment[frontpart]

\setupuserpagenumber[numberconversion=romannumerals]
\setuppagenumber[number=1]

\stopstructureblockenvironment

\startstructureblockenvironment[bodypart]

\setuppagenumber[number=1]

\stopstructureblockenvironment

\starttext

\startfrontmatter

\completecontent[criterium=all]

\chapter{Intro}

\input tufte

\stopfrontmatter

\startbodymatter

\chapter{knuth}

\input knuth

\stopbodymatter

\stoptext

Mailing list is a good place for me to learn ConTeXt. There are so many things
which are not described in the manual.
I cannot give you a solution. But many experts who are reading this list will
give you a solution.

Cheers,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] Am not getting Roman numeral page numbers in MKIV

2011-03-12 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Tom,

Since I am an enduser of ConTeXt, I couldn't expalin what happens here.
 I just run your code in the mail and got the following results.

 1. Front matter page numbers are not lower-case Roman numerals although they
 are listed as such in the TOC.

The Roman numerals in both front part and in TOC.

 2. The Introduction is not listed in the TOC.

Same as your output. No

 3. Page numbering isn't reset to 1 in the bodymatter section.

Same as you, but if I change \startstructureblockenvironment[bodymatter] to
\startstructureblockenvironment[bodypart], then Introduction starts from page 1.
So I guess that there are something between [bodymatter] and [bodypart].

best regards,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] font name has a space.

2011-03-07 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Taco,

Thank you for your comment.

I renamed the font to ~.ttf, luatools --generate first.

And try the same file.
At this time, there is no Fatal error messages, but still it doesn't locate
the font file.

So, I tested a few more things.

Test 1:
luatools locates all the fonts which has no space from the same font maker.
And, LuaTeX runs well to yield fine output.

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌돌CB.otf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/산돌돌CB.otf

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조B.otf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/산돌명조B.otf
###

Test 2:
luatools cannot locate the fonts which has space from the same font maker.

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조M.otf

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조 M.otf

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조\space M.otf

But it locates the same file if I enclose font name.
Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조 M.otf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/산돌명조 M.otf

So I tired \definefont[testfont][file:산돌명조 M.otf], but LuaTeX issue an error

system begin file testmp.tex at line 29
! LuaTeX error main ctx instance:1: ')' expected near '?'.

system tex error on line 30 in file testmp.tex: LuaTeX error ...

  \edef \somefontspec {at \n...
\dododefinefont ...inefont {#2}\rawfontidentifier
  \csname \rawfontidentifier...
l.30 \testfont

?

I tested english font which has a space in its name and got the same results.
For example, Geogia Bold.ttf font.
luatools cannot locate it and LuaTeX said unknown font. and used default font.

I renamed it GeogiaBold.ttf in /Library/fonts and tried again, but not succeed.

Hence, I think that the font whose name contains no space has no problem.
The fonts whose name contains a space make a trouble eventhough I removed the
space from it.

Am I doing right?

I am using Mac OSX. And,

This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.65.0-2010121316
 \write18 enabled.

[NTG-context] about \framed and \inframed

2011-03-04 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I defined Example as following:

\defineenumeration[Example]
  [location=serried,
   headstyle=bold,
   command={\framed[height=1.3em]},
   text={\ss \white 예제},
   prefix=yes,
   prefixsegments=chapter,
   way=bychapter,
   width=broad,
   number=yes,
   before={\blank[big]},
   after=\blank]

The problem is that the bottom of the framed text is aligned just below the
center of the following text lines. The vertical center is a little bit higher
than that of the following lines. If I use \inframed, then the top line of
the frame is a little bit higher than the center of the following sentence, so
there is almost no space between the frame and the texts in the next line.
In the manual \inframed makes vertical center alignment, but I can't make it.

I'd like to make vertical center alignment framed word and the normal text line
which follows.

How can I do it?

Thank you for reading.

[NTG-context] how to make chapter starts from odd page always?

2011-02-24 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to start every chapter starts from an odd page.
page=right or page=left doesn't affect the page setting.
I tried it using pagenumbering, but not succeed.
I also want to put counting + pagenumber at the header of everypage.
How to make it work?

Here is my setting. Corrections for better shapes are welcomed.
Thank you.

Best regards,
Dalyoung

\definestructureconversionset[frontpart:pagenumber][][romannumerals]
\definestructureconversionset[bodypart:pagenumber] [][numbers]

\setupheadertexts[][{\tfx COUNTING}]

\startstructureblockenvironment[frontpart]
\setupuserpagenumber[numberconversion=romannumerals]
\setuppagenumber[number=1]
\setuphead[chapter][command=,number=no,page=right]
\stopstructureblockenvironment

\startstructureblockenvironment[bodypart]
\setuppagenumber[number=1]

\setuppagenumbering[alternative={singlesided,doublesided},location={header,left}]%singlesided,right]
\setuphead[chapter][command=\Myheader, page=left]
\stopstructureblockenvironment

\startstructureblockenvironment[backpart]
\setuphead[chapter][command=,number=no,page=left]
\stopstructureblockenvironment

[NTG-context] about the line break after \inframed

2011-02-22 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I tested the following code from Metafun.

\startuseMPgraphic{lions b}
picture pic;
path p ; p := fullsquare xyscaled (\overlaywidth,\overlayheight) randomized 5pt
;
pickup pencircle scaled 1pt ;
fill p withcolor .850yellow ;
draw p withcolor .5yellow ;
\stopuseMPgraphic

\defineoverlay[leopard][\uniqueMPgraphic{lions b}]

\def\nota#1 {\inframed[frame=off,background=leopard]{#1}}

\starttext
\nota{test 1:} This is a test for line separation.
%\midaligned{\nota{test 2}}
\stoptext

Then the sentence This is a test. is written in a new line as following.

test 1:
This is a test.

Q1. I'd like to have it in the same line as test 1: This is a test.
How to surpress the line break after test?

Q2. Also, if I try to add \midaligned{}, then an error occured.

! Argument of \nota has an extra }.
...
...
inserted text
\par
to be read again
   }
l.15 \midaligned{\nota{test 2}}

How to put it midaligned?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung
