Fusion for 500 usd? :)

I think is great news for compositing community unless they kill it.

yeah and a native Linux version...

If Petty is as smart as he's always been, I guess he'd put Fusion inside
Resolve... then buy Lightworks and replace Resolve's editor with it.
add python access to the complete core and let the community do the rest ;)
Of course it will be very cheap, so it'll be a fantastic tool for
preproduction.

There'll be a hole new generation of filmmakers. People that start with
postproduction while writing the script...

I wish Softimage XSI was still available for them to buy. They certainly
would have a done a much better job than what Autodesk did. Houdini doesn't
look like the kind of app they would consider, but Maxon's Cinema 4D on the
other hand could be a candidate if that is something on their radar.

Yeah I think they are both a bit price heavy. Both doing well, what about
Electric Image? It probably needs a new home but its got a solid

You can still ctrl+drag say a translate knob from a transform node into the
focal point knob. It'll link it with an expression and you could put your
expression or animation in the translate knob.

[Nuke-users] maya nuke

2014-09-12 Thread Gary Jaeger
How do people get animation data from maya to nuke? I thought what I was trying
was super simple, just the Y rotate values. But when I try FBX and uncheck read
on each frame (so I can see the keyframes in nuke) it does some sort of Euler
filter thing where the X is constantly flipping +90 -90 and the Y is wrong.
When this happens in Maya I can filter it. Anything similar in Nuke? Or a way
around it? the keys in Maya are fine. Or maybe it’s an FBX export thing?
