Hello All, I spent a couple of hours this morning walking trails at
Hunters Garden.The most surprising thing was the degree of tree damage
around the mid-level pond.Right at the Cul de Sac were 2 Rufous sided
Towhees and an Eastern Phoebe.There were a good number of Pine Warblers
present,
The Upland Sandpiper continued at Robert Moses SP, Suffolk Co., LI through the
day today and was seen by many observers. Apparently it was difficult to find
at times, but it was still there at 18:35 when I swung through on my way home.
I looked at the ocean briefly just before this and was
Some Blue-winged Teal have been well observed in recent days at Staten
Island New York City & just this Tuesday (April 6, 2010) morning at
Prospect Park Brooklyn... just to name 2 southeasterly sites in NY
state.
On a separate FRIENDLY note I'd offer that anyone reporting a Northern
Rough-winged Swallows have returned to Upton Lake Christian School off of Salt
Point Turnpike in Clinton Corners and Clinton Hallow Rd. Park. I also had a
Broad-winged hawk in Kingston at Rt 32 and 209.

Today while going to observe the stranded, apparently moribund,
immature Humpback Whale at East Hampton Main Beach (Suffolk Co.), I
found 4 BLUE-WINGED TEAL at Hook Pond. I haven't heard many (or
perhaps any) reports of this increasingly uncommon duck yet this

An expanded crew met at Hempstead Lake SP and journeyed to Jamaica Bay Wildlife
Refuge. Only a single Pine and a couple of Yellow-rumped Warblers were among
