Count was held on Wednesday, December 27 under clear, cold conditions
with light winds. We recorded a total of 109 species. The highlights
are listed
When working on the NYS eBird Hotspots wiki I'll compare the previous bar
chart list of species with the current one picking up any additions or
deletions. By going to each county's 'Overview' page you can determine the
date the species was added by county. Some are from newly submitted
checklists

A light morph Rough-legged Hawk was seen hunting Croton Point Park landfill
grasslands this afternoon, viewed from entrance road by the park office.
A Snowy Owl made a brief stopover at Croton Point on Christmas Day, seen by
birders on Saw Mill River Audubon's Monday walk. First spotted by Karalyn

Hi all,
Mike Rath and I discovered a number of Cackling Geese yesterday during the
Smithtown CBC. With birds moving around during the day we figured there to
be at least 4 individuals, three of which were well photographed.
The most interesting one displayed a nice white neck collar and with a
re
