Park - I was able to photograph the 2 Yellow-breasted Chats, and see /
or photograph the 2 Common Yellowthroats, at least 2 Ovenbirds, 3 Gray
Catbirds, plus
On 24 December at 10:30 there was an adult Bald Eagle circling over the West
Side Hwy just north of the GWB. In the afternoon the following birds were
seen at
Buttercup Audubon Sanctuary near Stanfordville NY:
Canada Goose
Mallard
Bald Eagle 1 juvenile
Red-tailed Hawk
Red-bellied

I happened to be in the area and tried to test my luck around 4:00 PM. A group
of 3 birders informed me that the mountain bluebird flew toward the distant
east up and over the large tree line toward the State managed grassland. They
mentioned that the bird was a mere distant speck before it

Dyckman St. 10th Avenue across the island from Fort Tryon Park.

Going to the end of Lido Boulevard, through the playground, to the pipes,
then looking left about 25 yards away at a sand spit on the near shore
exposed by low tide, a juvenile Brown Pelican landed on the spit and gave
us excellent looks. This was around 3:30 PM this afternoon.

This afternoon, the barred owl was seen perching on a tree for almost one hour
in this location (40° 46' 28.189 N -73° 58' 10.621 W) about 200 yards south
of the Boat House.
