This afternoon, the barred owl was seen perching on a tree for almost one hour
in this location (40° 46' 28.189" N -73° 58' 10.621" W) about 200 yards south
of the Boat House.
It moved to a new location near by (40° 46' 27.874" N -73° 58' 6.276" W) across
the East Drive and it was there around

Going to the end of Lido Boulevard, through the playground, to the pipes,
then looking left about 25 yards away at a sand spit on the near shore
exposed by low tide, a juvenile Brown Pelican landed on the spit and gave
us excellent looks. This was around 3:30 PM this afternoon.
